Does this happen when the car is still warm? I had this problem with my e46 and it was because the car was still warm. Did not happen 100% of the time. Something with the computer IIRC.

Mine does it once or twice a week, zero fucks given. I blip the throttle and it stops. Did it when the car was stock and still does it FBO and JB4 ISO. Hasn't affected the car at all.

I'm going to try and flash my dme/ecu with the info I found on the forums. Just waiting on the cable from China.
I believe my car has the original firmware from factory. So it can't hurt to upgrade. I actually consider this behaviour to be very dangerous. When this happens in traffic the car lurches forward. Not good or safe imho. |

You're not alone. It's a known issue.
Engine stays for a second at some rpms and then goes down to idle. This happens while driving slowly and in low rpms (up to 2,500 I'd say). Also at low speeds & rpms when I lift off the throttle before a corner to slow down and lightly give it more gas afterwards, the car does not accelerate immediately. |

Since someone brought this back up I thought I would update a bit. I've gone from having JB4, to stock, then to Dinan stage 2, and the rev hang happens with all of them. I did go back to stock intake for a bit and I never saw the hang, but it was only for 2 days, so not conclusive.
Really don't care though, I kinda like it. |

It's not caused by any mods. I have a 2010 135i Coupe 6MT. The car is 100% standard and I get the same rev hang.
I typically get it when I'm crawling through slow traffic. Car's in first, drive 15m down the road, pop it into neutral to coast to a stop at the lights, and the revs hang at around 2,200rpm for around 1 to 2 seconds. It was damn scary the first time it happened cos I'd popped the car into second and lifted off the clutch. |

I believe if we flash the ecu it will resolve the problem. My car still has the original factory flash. So, over the winter I will flash it to the latest update.
Dealership wants to charge me 2hrs labor @ $140/hr CAN. I have the cable so I will get it a try. Anyone out there has resolved the issue using a flash? |

I used to have a minor version on this when the car was stock (6MT N55). It grew noticeably worse when I got my AFE, enclosed intake and sometimes would flat out stall when the A/C was on. The fix was to put the stock intake back on with the paper filter.
I just got the Cobb Stg 1 tune on the car Monday night and noticed the car was doing a little rev holding after stopping at a light. A blip of the throttle would settle it back down. I've put the AFE intake back on the car tonight because I'd like to find out if it will work/enhance the performance of the tune before I try to sell it. I'll report anything out of the ordinary while I get more feedback from the car. My two cents is that the N55 doesn't seem to like additional air or possibly certain types of aftermarket intakes as I've seen reports of this type of thing here and other message boards. Any opinions about issues with the sensor on the intake? |

Something that may be overlooked is if you have floor mats and they slide forward they can slightly depress the accelerator, No issues on my 135i, but occasionally happens on my 325iX, just a thought. Fran

The cause of this issue for ME is due to the BMS intake. It only does this with the intake, and when i put on the stock airbox it does NOT do it. With the intake, it is also WAY worse when the car is cold and in gears 1-3. When warmed up it still does it just not nearly as much. Still Annoying |
