according to Seinfeld, at that point "the helmet is now wearing you for protection." Later on the helmet's talking with the other helmets going "It's a good thing that he was there or I would have hit the ground directly."

I think the reason a few get upset by the fact that it is fake is because it actually could be done. It is not a good idea and it should not be done, but it most definitely could be. How amazed would you be if Ken Block agreed to drift the 1 series M coupe around the world's tallest helipad...my vote is he would, but BMW wouldn't. To the point, I think a lot of people here are saying, why fake it when in fact it could be done if you threw a ton of money at it (i.e. safety). Well the answer seems to be that these videos are likely only seen by us, not televised. (which inevitably brings up the point of why the hell not televise, but I cant answer that) |

Holy Shit Batman. If that was real the driver would have the biggest pair of balls on earth. But since it's not, it's cool as hell.

The only thing fake about the video is the fact, that the car never drove there. But it was driven like that (as precisely as the video shows). And that does say someting about the product. Very simply.
Imho BMW is just trying to take advantage of the same effect, that the CSL last created. Free advertisement and (word of mouth being more effective, than campaigns) free pr. And... that stuff appeals to the "Ken-Block-audience", will get you "facebook-likes". If it actually sells cars will remain to be seen. All theory aside... the vids are great fun to watch.

I agree, the setting is fake, but the driving is real. Take your car to the track and have some fun of your own.
