Question In "Qualiity Check" for 1.5 weeks....?

Well, My 330i finished production on February 2nd and I was expecting it to enter "Awaiting transport". But, that never happend... According the "hotline" the car has been in "Quality Check" since the 2nd of February and even they're confused as to why. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I be concerned? Thanks!!!

lol lets hope not, but I know the feeling...that is weird though, maybe they haven't updated the info. Then all the sudden you'll get a call that says your car is here

I would contact your sales rep. and have he/she look it up on the DCS (BMW Network) and see where the vehicle currently is. The most up-to-date info will be there.

Wonder why some like to keep that a secret, guess it involves work.

Yup, with an ordered car I suppose the sales rep assumes his work is done.

Usually the case. Once they got you, they got you.

Maybe they tested something, it failed, and they have to repair/replace the component.

If the car is really still in QC, personally I'd be pretty concerned as to why.

Yes, I spoke to the sales rep... he looked into it and confirmed it has been in Quality Control or Quality Check Since 2/2/06....Today is the 14th.... with my luck it was built without a motor or something.

Did you order some out of the rdinary option ?

If the factory cannot get a part when the car is built they put a temporary one in and the car waits till the proper part arrives at the factory so they can install it afterwards.

They have temporary wheels, axels, brakes ect ect

Maybe the independant testing authority took your car as a random sample for QA testing.

Simple things like multi point crash tesing and engine stress tests. Really, nothing to worry yourself about because the car is in the factory and they will straighten any sheet metal bends and patch up stress cracks.

Once you take delivery of your new E90, "it should go like the clappers!!!"

All the best

Hate to make things sound worse.. But our 325 finished production on 2-3 and went to En Route status today.. Sounds like your situation is not normal.. I would be all over the sales guy, his job is not done just because you signed the paper..

They do driving tests on the upper floor and engine performance tests on a dyno before leaving the factory. Could be that a component failed, or even the engine might be bad. But I wouldn't worry about getting a bad car, all those parts are replaced. You should be happy that they actually do that instead of delivering the car, and then you have to take it into service. I know the wait sucks, but we'll all help you pull through this torture!
