The best intercooler

Hi to all,

Running a modified 135 in London is not as easy as it is in the USA because we just dont have many after market products as yourselves....

I have got my self a nice set of AR catless down pipes and am looking for the best intercooler to have installed at the same time as the down-pipes

BUT if you guys could please guide me as to which intercooler you think is the best (as this is something I can get shipped accross) I would really appriciate it. OR if you know anyone selling one that would be even better ? ?

Thanks in advance..

Dan

I have the HPF as well. Build quality is excellent and solid intake air temp. reduction.

HPF is a nice looking piece. I personally got the ETS because of its no cutting install and excellent price. Im very happy with the ETS.

I think there are only two companies that utalize the factory snap/clip-on connectors. HPF is one. Who is the other company? I think this is important to prevent the intercooler pipes from blowing off at high boost levels.

Some people have aso gone the low budget way and used off the shelf intercooler parts. KC_Skyrider was one who went that route. The results were fairly decent for a few hundred dollars vs a grand for the other IC setups.

I have searched and have the ability to do it quite well BUT thats not the point...

I have asked people on here for their opinion (experience according to the intercoolers that they have fitted) this as mentioned in my initial post -

We here in England do not have such a large choice of intercoolers (or many tuning parts) for the 135 so I am asking for suggestions ? ?

I thought that was the whole point for forums like these ? ?

Hi.

We fitted a Code 3 intercooler to our Project 135i, with good results:

The full write-up is here, if you'd like to check out the details:
http://www.vividracing.com/blog/proj...-project-135i/

Otherwise, we have three alternatives, including the Agency Power kit:

Feel free to PM if you have any questions.

Graeme

Hi. I live in the UK too and I'm just about to have AR down pipes fitted. The efficiency of the intercooler is important especially in the UK which has lower temperatures than much of the US, so extra cooling is less vital. Code 3 seems to score well on that aspect.

I have heard that the oil cooler on the intercooler lowers the oil temps only be a degree or two. Please post info on this when you can.

Our intercooler has proven itself over and over. The large face and deep stepped core give a "best of both world" performance.

Should be in the market for an intercooler in the next month or so. Wow, that Evolution Racewerks full package + BOV just bumped up to the top of my list.

+1. I too am interested in hearing how much the added oil cooler helps. Any CP-E owners care to chime in?
