TCKs have a unique shock dyno curve developed for BMWs, specifically that exact Model you purchase. Many high end shocks are sometime rebuilt to model TCKs curves by end users |

Wish I knew someone nearby who had a set of more track focused setup with TCK DAs, ST|G has them, but he runs stock springs IIRC.

You'll love the diff. FWIW: I went with Whiteline poly diff bushings, minor increase in NVH, mainly in the >4000rpm diff whine. Beyond that, no vibes, shaking, harshness, etc.

I'd recommend the whiteline ones as well. For me it was a major decrease in NVH as I had solid aluminium ones previously

The issues with Whiteline is that they don't list the durometer easily |

Kgolf31 will 255 RE-71R be able to withstand road racing (track day) temps?

Typically, we spray tires to cool them down to optimal temperatures. I haven't had to do this yet. In the past, ZII and RS3v2 require extensive spraying. |

great journal
what type of power did u see the AA tune (street one) give you? and also, higher end dampers will be more confident inspiring and each adjustment is tangible. ask me how I know ? i went from TC Kline to Motons on my e46 m3. the difference was immediately noticeable. the only thing is, you are not tracking, you're auto-x'ing - so the surface is far from ideal for race dampers. stick w/the tck. cheap and good enough.

The TCKs are good entry level, high grade shocks. Each click on compression is very noticeable. Are Motons probably more distinct? Probably. During the SCCA ProSolo Finale I had issues with rear sliding out and trouble power down. Jacked up rebound on all 4 corners, went 2 clicks down on front and rear compression and dropped considerable time from 5th to 1st to take the ProFinale win and overall ProSolo Championship in STX. Pimp shocks are still popular in autocross, the bumpier surfaces actually make this desire even more great because steady state isn't there very long so the valving is critical. Will I upgrade? Eventually. But things are good enough now and newer more expensive shocks will lead me with tenths in overall improvement |

Have you every had any issues with heating? How do you monitor your temps since 128s don't have a temp gage.
I had an interesting thing happen to me at the track the other day. Towards the end of my last 3 sessions on day 2, my throttle was completely non responsive. When it decided to respond again, it would pick a random rpm between 4k and 6k and not rev past it. There were no warning lights or codes being thrown. I have done countless autocross events in the car without any issue. My best guess is that something heated up and the car went in limp mode. Heard about such a thing happening on 128s before? There is a coding option that reduces engine power when the brakes overheat. Likely caused by the rear brakes overheating in a track environment as a result of e-diff engagement. Both of which can be disabled.
