[BMW F22]

Im going to race my friend's 2004 Mustang GT this weekend. He just called me up to go race but it's kinda late. His is 5 speed manual and he's not a pro at stick (I think). lol my 330 is auto. I think it's gonna be a very close race. I just wanted to hear some inputs here. It's not gonna change anything. This is just for kicks. so

Before you race, drain out as much fuel as you can, give yourself an advantage (not sure how much lighter the mustang is). j/k

The only other car I've owned was a Mustang GT. In the straights they are fast cars. As much as I love my 330i (mine's step as well), I don't really see you (or me for that matter) being able to keep up with a GT stick unless he really doesn't know how to drive. Keep us posted.

Yeah, I'm guessing my somewhat modded 98GT would take a 330i. The new GT's have a lot more HP (though they are heavier). Then again, I've only driven a 330i once, on my test drive, and maybe the smoothness and lack of cabin noise made it seem slower.

Most of my previous cars have all been GT's The tourque out of that V8 will launch that car faster than the 3. In a straight line I doubt a 3 would win. Now take him into the twisties and it will be a different story.

Unless the stang stalls out, you have no chance.

Your only chance is to use the manual shift mode and shift at 6 - 7K.
If you are going to shift at 3 or 4K don't even bother.

So, you whould probably lose in the 1/4 mile run even with the manual...
But look a the difference in braking and lateral acceleration.

i smoked a gt mustang three times on PCH about three weeks ago...but then again he was a douchebag and i have a manual.....it will be close...just hope your friend doesn't know how to launch

This is exactly what im planning to do. lol Imma drain it til maybe half a quarter tank left.


Unless he's had so much practice that he's became a pro with stick, I dont think he will win.
