Center Console software update (non-iDrive or navi)
Hey everyone!
I have a 2008 BMW 128i with premium package, bluetooth, and iPod/USB integration. My car has no navigation or iDrive. Is there any way to get the software updates for the OEM radio unit or computer for the car? I am finding some features quite annoying. For example, when choosing a song by artist on the iPod, you have to scroll down by each artist name instead of collapsible menus that are organized by the first letter of each artist's name. How much will this cost if I take it to a dealer or third party shop? Thanks in advance! |

You could try @bmwretrofit but I do not think it is possible to change the way your car works with your iPod.

If the feature which you would like to have is present in the latest software update from BMW, than you need to go to the dealer for the full software update. It is not possible to perform full software update over internet, since it may cause complete malfunction of the radio. Also, it is important that the software update is performed for the entire vehicle, and not just the radio. |
