1 Touch Windows Up Feature... GONE!
OK, so I had my 2010 128 Conv in for a yearly service, (and they also replaced the Sound System's trunk amp which took 21 days to get... must be a Japanese made part)...
...anyway, the car no longer has 1 touch windows up feature on any switch. PFffft! gone. How can they decontent my car? I can see them reserving the right to make running changes to the car's standard equipment before its sold to a customer... but I own my car and paid for it based on the equipment it had when delivered. How can they elect to remove standard equipment without lowering my purchase price on the window sticker? I'm going to demand it be reinstated... |

I had that problem with my old Honda S2000. It was a switch that needed re-setting in the window. The procedure was I believe to hold the down window button until all the way down and keep holding a few seconds, I'd hear a small click, then same procedure to roll up, hold down until hear click. Not sure if will work for you, but worth a quick try.

I agree with KDOG. There is some sequence of buttons and key turnings that can re-set the windows. This is usually only needed when the "window dips a quarter inch when you open the window" feature is off, but it might work for the one-touch-up feature. If that doesn't work, it should just be a coding issue.

I had an issue with my driver's side window then I took delivery of my 135i, it wouldn't go all the way up when I hit the one-touch up. It would stop halfway. The dealership had me hold the button up for 30 seconds, fixed the problem.
Give it a try. I didnt hear a click though, no audible noises when I did it. |

I talked to a BMW mechanic and they said that BMW no longer offers the1 touch window up feature and also that they are taking it out of their cars because there is no sensor to know if someone's arm is caught. How he put it was that BMW got in trouble because people would accidentally hit the button and the windows would go up and kids arms got caught in it. True or false, I do not know, but that was the explanation I got on it.

Whenever they do coding of any sort, for some reason they're supposed to reset the windows and sunroof. It was on my invoice from when I had my Alpine HiFi retrofit done. They probably just forget this step. I think you can do it yourself - search the forums for how. Otherwise, take it back to the dealer.

My car just had a SW update done a few weeks ago. My car still has the one touch UP and DOWN features.
Maybe you should try Sylon's tip and try resetting the window up and down limits. |

Weird is right... The feature came back all by itself this morning. All windows/switches work as they used to, with 1 touch up & down.
Go figure. |

If you can time the shutting of the side windows to match the shutting of the sunroof to close all at the same time, then sometimes the side windows will roll back down halfway because of the air pressure difference trips the sensor into thinking an object is in the way. Ive had it happen to me a few times. So I know for a damn fact there is a pinch sensor in there somewhere. What that mechanic told you was BS.
