Will the U.S. magazines be able to test a 135 prior to its official launch?

I just don't know if I can wait that long....

Seeing Bryan from MWerks is getting a 135i on Friday of this week to flog for a year, I assume others are getting them too. Patience, Grasshopper. Patience. :wink:

We can offer then mergen's car that sitting in NJ right now. :biggrin:

I would bet they have them now as long as not to many press cars got creamed on the .... I think it was the courage or something like that not in the mood for searching but you know what I'm talking about

BMW is having a US press event at Laguna Seca this week. Bryan@mwerks is headed there and I tried to muscle my way in but failed.

Well, if it is "sitting in NJ" they're gonna have to turn that MAERSK WIND around and go back and get it.

Actually, I'm preparing for my CA to ask to use my car so the local paper can do a story on this "new kid on the block." The local paper features a different car every week and puts it on the front of the Automotive section. The writer puts the car through its paces and the write-ups are usually very thorough and well done.
I've already got an answer for them. It's very short.

Of course, the dealership can use one of their own cars for this if they have any, but theirs may not be loaded up like mine.

I cant wait for the a U.S. magazine to get the car for a FULL ROAD test. Its been too damn long. So many people have taken order of their cars in Europe. Why cant C&D, Roadandtrack, etc. sample one of those cars. They tested the JDM spec EVO and STI. Why not the Euro Spec 135i. I'm dying to know the actual numbers....its been too long!! Seriously.

The full road tests often come at about the same time as the car is available for purchase - March/April issues? I am sure the mags are just as excited as we are.

Reporting on a Press Event is not remotely like a unsupervised review/road test.

We're driving our 135i back to Chicago from the California event, and we're taking the southern route on old Route 66. We'll have our Vbox with us to get some 0-60, 0-100, 1/4-mile, braking etc. We'll also be doing video updates from each day's driving. I'll keep you guys posted. Our first day of the return drive is this Friday on the Pacific Coast Highway, and we should have a video posted on YouTube on Saturday morning before we hit the road again.
