i remember in NSW for a while, you had to have them secured to the body as well or something given how tight they are to the intake pipes, that makes them secure - the check they'd do would be to yank on them if it IS still illegal secured to the intake pipes.. i'd just argue it's not clear in that respect lol |

Oh the internet experts! In the real world there is no such thing as "legal" or "illegal". There's nothing to stop a policeman from issuing you a defect notice.
It's then up to you to prove it's compliant. A highway patrol car is not going to be able to determine if you have the right number of cats. They need a hoist to look. If you're really unlucky you'll come across some sort of mobile EPA show. Don't hang around places where dickhead illegal street racers hang around and you'll be fine.

My mate was checked by the hwp and epa coming out of eastern creek on the easter long weekend after a motorbike track day.
He had his unreged and catless track day bike on a trailer and they made sure it was not registered before letting him go. He told me they were pulling over lots of bikes leaving eastern creek. Scary for people who are doing the right thing and speeding at the track ffs..... |
