Buttery Smooth Shifts: Raceseng Ashiko heavyweight shift knob and Dinan Short Shifter
Coming from a 2010 Genesis Coupe 3.8 manual tranny (one of the worst transmissions ever) over to the BMW manual transmission i honesty couldn't believe that there could be any improvement. The BMW's transmission was so much smoother than most of the cars I've driven in and i absolutely loved it. I've been building the car for SEMA and in the process of gathering potential sponsors etc, I was contacted by two companies Dinan & Raceseng to try out some of their products. All i can say is WOW! The short shifter paired with the heavy weight knob (735 grams) is absolutely amazing! The Dinan piece is slightly heavier than the OEM part and definitely made out of better quality materials. Not only are the throws shorter, but a lot more precise. The heavy weight knob also makes shifting faster with less effort.
Can't be any happier with the combination. Definitely a shifting work of art Dinan Shifter with Raceseng's BMW threaded adapter. Adapter has 4 alan screws to hold it in place. Raceseng Ashiko Knob in transparent Charcoal |

Looks nice but I hate how hot the metal shifters get in the sun!

The knob actually doesn't get as hot as some of the other metal knobs i've used in the past. Maybe due to the coating they use.
I haven't tried it in cold temps...but it really doesn't get that cold in sunny California |
