You pay $100,000 (not a typo, one-hundred thousand dollars) less for a full M3 than we do in OZ. No offence, but FU! (I mean that in jest, I know it's not your fault)

Yeah, I didn't mean it in a mean way. We do lose out on the better M3 models. Also locally, the M3s are more of a fashion statement than a performance car.

New C63 out next year....likely to be 4WD with Twin Turbo V8 AMG purpose-built....going to be a rush for sure.

Definitely going to be an interesting head to head with the new M3.

From the pictures, I think the new M3 looks much better than the new Benz but will reserve final judgement for when I see them in real life.

At the moment I would go for a C63 over the M3. A c63 coupe with slightly wider PSS can keep up with a stock M3 no problem and is faster in a straight line of course - esp. with the P31 package.

Having owned a 135i from new I expected it. The reviews all raved about it, but I have to say it didnt live up to my expectation, esp. when compared to proper sports cars. BUT for the price a manual, no-frills 135i is actually great value.

i think by straight line standards its way above. maybe it's the corners where it can get a little to loose. (time loss).

Pav is correct as much as i really love the M3 it is by comparison to N54 powered cars SLOW, it has no real get up and go there is no aggression with the power delivery it feels just to smooooooth. Point A to point B it is a fast car BUT you cant beat a turbo car for the raw seat pushing performance.

WHY did BMW not fit the N54 into the E92 M3 i think they stuffed up it should have been an option it could have been the perfect M car.

Maybe the next M3 will be the best, i guess we will have to hope the accountants have been locked in the toilet long enough for the engineers to do there magic.

Don't get me wrong that little V8 is a gem it sounds like music @ 8000rpm + and seem to be very reliable, more so than the N54.
If i eventually own one i will fit a supercharger and have the best sounding M3 ever with some GRUNT.

We all know the six sounds like crap when you compare it with the M3 V8

Agree with you Peter.

Here's my take on N54 vs S65.

N54 is a rough, raw blonde that wants it hard but bitches and whines too much, and the S65 is the stunning brunette that's always consistent and classy.
Reliability definitely goes to the V8.

I can answer that one for Vinney, he's the tarty blonde type that likes a little refinement ever now and then.
