FMIC Stand-off: Evolve vs. ETS

Hey there!
So I've been looking at different I/Cs to upgrade my 1M and I was mainly looking into 4 brands: Evolve, ETS, Forge and Helix.
I've finally narrowed it down to either Evolve or ETS, and was wondering what you guys think?

I think they all require a small piece of trim removed to install. I've got Evolve, it's good build quality but you pay premium for it.
What I have observed about the Evolve unit is its very light compared to ETS. Ultimately its comes down to your buying criteria.

ETS ftw. I ran into a slight issue during install and ETS customer service was top-notch. The fact that they're manufactured in the US, makes it easier if you encounter issues....exchanges and tech support. I hear forge is pretty badass, but they are produced outside of the US.

Great thread!

Our intercooler does come at a higher price than most and the reason is the 100% OEM fitment with the CNC flanges for the stock clip on hoses and the core itself.

An intercooler should be judged upon it's ability to lower intake air temperatures while retaining a low pressure drop. Recovery rate is something that is not often mentioned or discussed much and is a very important aspect of the performance of the intercooler.

I have lots of data about your intercooler thanks to Imran and would be my first choice, the moment that I will need to upgrade the stock unit for one or some of following reasons a) I will move to a warmer climate and 1M will be still with me b) I will start tracking (they need to build one nearby!) c) I will have an engine tune.

Now, one thing I couldn't get from Imran was, how big the core of Evolve intercooler exactly? I mean vs. the stock. I am trying to guess if I will have worse lag, even a tiny worsening of it.

I am also curious about what Ozinaldo mentioned, how big is the core of the Evolve vs. Stock, and is the lag going to be more noticeable?

I will put up the exact sizes shortly for you.

You would need a HUGE intercooler size difference to introduce lag.
