Taken Delivery - price update

Hi

I have taken delivery today of our Metallic Black 135 , with RL,SR,PRO-N etc.

I was having second thoughts , because i had to give up our Benz (CLK 280)

My deal didn't include any $160 voucher??? , just a picnic kit, umbrella and 1 key ring.

Verdict ----- Performance is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet , braking is f$## great.

fit out is Okay , but Benz was better (06 model)

oh its a 02/10/09 build , with a 10/01/10 compliance.

Insurance through Budget direct @ $1380 for Upper North shore address and over 35 driver

Questions - the EPP offer of free service looks suspect?
What fuel do you use and what tint have you used (No dealer tint)
[/LIST]can you get front PDC as an after-market from anyone?

Congrats Bandit.
Why do you say that EPP offer is suspect? i am on it and have used the free service already.

It entitles you to free 'scheduled' servicing for 2 years. this ultimately means that you will get only 1 free service in that 2 years as its about 25k for each service.

Fuel? i use Shell or Caltex.. im not that fussy.

And Tinting, well i got mine done 'free' from BMW but i much prefer the job Rob from Hunters Hill tinting did for my previous car.

Note tho that if you have comfort access its best to go with a non metallic like the 3M products.

Front PDC, i dont think there is a need, but there are heaps of retrofit kits out there that you can purchase.

You can try out the Car Kit company as they are located near you on the north shore.

don't see why.... I've already had mine serviced once under it, with no issue at all. I'll probably have done 60,000k's by the end of the 2 years, so will probably be 3 services.

they record you as an EPP customer in the CRM, seems to get picked up automatically when you book in for a service.

With regards to EPP can you please clear something up for me. My readout says that I am due for a service in 7,000kms or 5/2010. There is no way that I will do 7,000kms by May.

So when is my service due, May or 7,000kms from now?

7000km. The car is guessing about it being May (and you'll notice that it changes its date based on your mileage done). Mine was May but it has moved out to June.

Thanks. In that case EPP isn't the benefit that BMW make it out to be in so far as servicing goes. Customers that only do low Kms only get one free service which as previously discussed on here is nothing more than a visual check with no oil change, fluids, etc.

other way round I think.... it's time based if you don't do the kilometers. i.e. if you were only doing 5000km's a year, it would still prompt you to service it after a certain time period (12 months?)

Yep it's based on whichever is sooner: the kilometres or the date. My dad's car was an 08 demo and his first service came due in 09 even though the car had done 300kms.

Not sure why yours moved back to June...

My wife's 125i has <6000kms and it has prompt for service. Don't think there's anything dodgy about EPP. If you want extra oil change however, you'll have to fork it out. I also had the first service as well, and it's free, apart from the oil change I requested.

I am pretty sure front pdc is available aftermarket but it won't be integrated with your nav. I am sure you can have it fitted by the dealer but it would be quite expensive.

Sydney prices for tint from the dealer is apparently quite high, but there are numerous threads previously.

I don't worry too much about which brand of fuel as many different stations actually came from the same refinery (as I have been told) depending on your location, but I have always use 98RON.

Gratz on the new car.!

I've done 11,000km in ~18 months and my car's telling I've still got 12,000km to go for my first service...? I'm about to do my own oil change for the 2nd time.
