I read the first part of this and began to get angry and sad... the punchline made me feel better

but yeah...

To the OP: all indications from this board seem to point that there will be no 2012 1Ms for the US, but however I know for a fact that some dealers are still telling people that there will be some and that they are willing to take your name on a waiting list.

I say there's no loss in keeping the hope that it will happen, but I certainly wouldn't pass on a chance to get one of the few 2011 still available (if there are any left) just on that hope...

But at this point it's that dealer's word against just about everyone else word.... and the fact that there is no 1M listed in BMW's newly released price sheet for 2012.

Read what you're typing. Why is it only some dealers are telling people there will be a 2012? Do you think BMWNA would only announce this news to a select few dealers? C'mon man!!!

You don't understand what I'm saying here: I am not saying what I believe, I am reporting on the fact that some dealers are telling people there will be a 2012. What I personally believe doesn't matter, my car is on a boat on the way to me so I may not even care at all

Thanks for the well reasoned response. This is kind of what I'm thinking at this point. No harm in having your name on a list in the event that they recant and do another production run, but best not to get one's hopes up.

Relax, brah This ain't a horse track. No one is laying down bets. If we were, the odds would be really long on another production run of the 1M. I think everyone knows that.

There is a very small possibility of a short third quarter build as well as a 135is.

So, in otherwords you're reporting on a rumor that was generated by a few dealers. Sorry, I don't see the value, but I'm happy that you'll be taking delivery of your 1M soon.

Exactly! Small possibilities are just rumors. But no big deal either way since owning one is just fantastic.

The word tonight is that they're taking a deposit on the car. Boy I'd be pissed if someone took a deposit from me without solid info on production.

There are plenty of times when BMW is mum and speculation is called for, but this is not one of them.

From Matt R, the BMWNA M Brand Manager:

It's not an emissions issue, as the same motor is still being sold in other models... looks like it's something else driving that decision.
