Auto Dim Side Mirror Replacement/Fix?

Hey,

Recently bought a 135i and the auto dim side mirrors are discolored and bronzed along the bottom. I do not want the auto dim feature but I do want the heated feature. From my searches it seems like the plug from my housing will not work with the heated only ones and if I want heated mirrors I need to buy auto dim replacement mirrors?

If I buy the cheap heated only mirrors, the heating function wont work but they will fit in the housing right?

Also, has anyone tried separating the glass and removing the auto dimming fluid on the side mirrors? I know lots of people have done it on rearview's but can't find anything about disassembling the side mirrors.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update in case anyone has the same issue.

Its fairly easy to take the mirrors apart and clean out the fluid from between the glass and the mirror. Reassembly is a bit of a pain but it worked out fine.

The hardest/most annoying part is removing the trim without breaking it. A lot of heat and being gentle worked though. Cracked it in a few spots but its not visible when the mirrors are on.

I am no having a weird issue though. When I set my mirror memory, when i hit the button to go to the memory position, the driver side mirror goes all the way to the left and stays there, not to the memory position saved. Kind of stumped with this one :/
