BMW Performance Exhaust...Please help!

Yes, Y pipe installed. Cold start is much louder, but it's a nice mean growling loud

Going to have a go at removing the black tips off the stock this weekend with the suggestions given by others here.

Got the black tips off the stock fairly easily. They've 4 internal spring clips each. Get a firm grip and pull them off with a little twisting, or use a rubber mullet to tap the back while pulling it.

Steelo, like Stu said, there are a few sound/video clips around and I can confirm they're pretty spot on. I don't have any other exhaust mods, so the Y pipes and muffler combination is 'perfectly' loud, that is, loud enough but not to the extent where you can't hear your radio.

Thanks lads for the videos ANC encouragement. Fairly tempted to get the PE. I have N55 mids on my N54 vert, so the PE would certainly be noticeable. Maybe I'll see you guys at the next drive day / meet and will listen for real.

Steelo, I have the Eisenmann Axle back on my N55..which I think its almost the same thing as BMW PE... First you install it, it might seem loud but you will get used to it and you will want it to be louder
and start driving with your windows down as it is music to the ears!!

That sounds awesome, I didnt think the Eisenmann was that loud. Do you still have the stock dps?

yes everything else is stock.. I dont think its that loud now, but coming from stock it was a big different especially with the crackle pop note..

so NO DPs
