JB3 v2.0 Map 3 versus Stock Dyno
I know when I was looking for a clear cut winner in the tune race I searched high and low on these forums for a dyno that had both the stock and after tune numbers with minimal luck. I know that most tuner websites have a before and after dyno but, in my experiences at least, I have never been able to duplicate the same numbers as they have so I wanted to make my own to see how I faired versus the tuners charts. After reading several threads about each tune I finally decided to go with the JB3 v2.0 and installed it a few weeks ago. I ran the car a week, and several hundred miles, on Map 3 to make sure that the ECU had ample time to adjust to the tune so hopefully this is as accurate as possible. I did however have warrenty work, HPFP failed, 2 days before the runs and they gave me the software bandaid so I went to Map 0 for a day, I hope that didn't tamper with the results.
These were taken from the same dyno and the only change was the JB3 v2.0 set on Map 3. The stock runs were done in late August last year after the break in period with an average temperature of 102 degrees with 8% humidity. The JB3 runs were done this year in the beginning of June with an average temperature of 92 degrees with 21% humidity. Like I said before, they were both taken from the same dyno at Batlground Motorsports in Smyrna, GA. I took the average run, which happened to be the second run in both cases, to show the increase from stock, which was +36.62 whp and +52.1 ft/lbs tq. I was hoping for a little better increase but the car feels incredible so I am not complaining at all! Enjoy! |

On map3 is possible but conditions have to be perfect. Colder day, less humidity things like that. But he got a pretty good gain over stock.

Yea, the gains were great and throughout the entire powerband which is incredible because I can keep the stock driveability instead of it getting all peaky like in my previous cars. However, I was thining that I was going to hit around the ~350 whp mark but I haven't seen enough Map 3 dynos around here with minimal other mods to see if my car is running a little low or if the numbers are around the right area. I have seen some dynos with Map 5 and they were around the 350-360 range so maybe that is about right for Map 3. I guess I will just have to keep enjoying this beast in the meantime though lol.

I do wish however I would have done the last run on Map 5 to see the gains from stock versus my plan of upgrading the car, doing 1 run on map 3 and the remaining 2 on map 5 to see the difference. |

I dynoed with 93 octance, thankfully that is everywhere down here =] Yea as soon as I sell my old car, 99 Acura Integra GS-R if anyone is interested =P, I am going to get a FMIC, intake, 3" downpipes, and then run map 5 on my JB3 and stop for a bit lol.
Bad news though, as of yesterday I can't even go under more than 75% acceleration without my car going into limp mode and throwing a CEL. Almost got my wife and I into a wreck tonight and I am not a very happy camper especially since I got the bandaid fix less than a month ago. I am going to get my laptop from work tomorrow and use the BT cable to see if it is throwing codes from the HPFP which I bet it is...so much for driving it to New Orleans Saturday for vacation. For a 40K+ dollar car and my first BMW I am really disappointed with all of these problems =[ |
