wheel and tire sizing on xi
im thinking of either 18x8 wheels all around...
or 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 staggered. but i drive a 330xi, is staggered alright for awd? anyone with an xi have staggered aftermarket wheels? I'm assuming u cant, since the OEM sport package wheels for the 330xi is 17x8 all around. if i cant, can someone explain why? secondly. since i most likely will go with the 18x8, what wheel size should i go for. 225/40 or 235/40. The OEM uses 225/40 for an 18x8 wheel, but some people on the forum said i should go with 235? thanks

I am doing that right now. you will probalby need - 225/35/19 front and 265/30/19 rears. The rolling diameter will need to be the same to avoid any DTS problems

Staggered is fine. The sport package on the xi from the factory has staggered 162s.

ZSP Sport Package Includes 8-way power front sport seats with adjustable backrest width and thigh support, 3-spoke sport steering wheel with audio and accessory phone controls, 17" x 8" Star Spoke (style 158) alloy wheels with P225/45R17 run-flat all season tires. Not 162s and not staggered. 162s are an option.

Interesting. The BMWUSA site has some errors. I am sure that you are correct. If you go to the 330xi Features and Options tab on bmwusa.com you will see the 162 staggered listed as I referenced. If you go to the Build your 330xi section then you will see the type 158 non-staggered listed on the sport package.

Can others suggest tire specs that would keep diameters the same on a staggered 19x8.5 f 19x9.5 r setup? does 225/35/19 front and 265/30/19 rears sound about right as another had suggested.
Also, how do u guys feel about Miro/Alt replica wheels. any horror stories or are they a reputable replica company??

i've been told countless times that those tires will work. I am in the process of getting my wheels looked at now, then painted then buying tires. I will let you know closer to spring time once the temp is warmer and the sand is off the road.
