Plenty of P cars will appreciate if you buy used. If you had bought a 997.2 RS a year ago even you would have made money as John and I found out. RS 4.0 definitely have appreciated from new even.

Hahaha Wayne why did I expect john and or yourself to rebutt! fully understand and agree with your points but pls note my caveats. Most of us in these forums do not purchase our new and used cars for nice-to- have, prestige, exquisite or collection purposes, quite unlike some in the exotic forums. Most of our cars are typically our DD and get driven most days. It's therefore important that we expect our range of vehicles to depreciate, no matter how special they may be. It was nice when 1Ms held their value but realistically they will normalise to the level of demand for an outdated M, classic M? who knows?!

Yeah have to agree, Porsche values on the rise for anything air cooled and special (3.8- 4.0 997 RS' etc). Last of the Mezger engines with 3 pedals, they'll be worth money long term. A GT2RS with the same donk and 3 pedals will be a 900k car in a decade as its the last of.

Might seem crazy but 993 RS Clubsports are changing hands for north of $400k.

I reckon he's got himself a good deal on the 7.2 RS.

Did he buy Jim's car? Or the red one that was ex-Sydney?

I think that car in the original post has popped up a couple times recently. It was a private sale then was for sale at Gold Coast Mercedes. I went and had a look. It's a bit rough around the drivers door trim and bonnet, and it's been modded (tell tale tabs broken in the engine bay and things are looser than stock). I walked away.

Okay so Bris BMW started playing games with the changeover so ending up passing on the black one which I really liked.

Now looking at this one at Motorline which is modded already. Anyone here know the car ? Pretty decent mods if the coil overs are quality and work I would've eventually done myself anyway

"
This vehicle has some very expensive items fitted
Appropovic Exhaust
Carbon Roof Spoiler,
Carbon Rear Difusser,
Carbon Kidney Grills
Carbon Rear Spoiler
Coil Over Susspension
Finished in Gleaming Alpine White with Satin Black Alloys

Appropovic exhaust? You'd think the seller would get it right when asking that much.

I went in and drove it on Saturday but no good
Suspension is meant to be coilovers but it was super dooper soft. When you come out of a corner you wait about half a second and it feels like the car is wagging its tail. Worst suspension setup I've experienced in a perf car.

A member suggested looking for a switch for the baffle on the akro exhaust but I couldn't find anything in the cabin. Cruising with it was horrible. The drone was completely out of control but it certainly had its moments when hard on it.

I still have no idea about the cars history but it looks like its been flogged hard. I found evidence of removed components from the engine bay and plenty of grit which remind me of my tommi mak which I flogged mercilessly around the track.

This is now the 3rd 1M I've driven and to be honest I'm moving on to something else. I just dont think the 1M is for me. Its quick for sure but feels somewhat souless what driving normally and even what up it. I'm not sure if I should check out an E92 M3 or wait for the Mustang to come through next year.

Rob.

Hi Rob I doubt you're going to find a 1M that hasn't been flogged. Best case scenario you want to make sure it's been well looked after, no serious crashes and that the mods are tasteful. Good luck.

Rob - all the 1M have drones as stock. The akra actually shifted the drone some what. You can come up and drive my car around to feel what a 1M should fee like .

Thats a very generous offer Sparoz. It'd be great to see what these cars are capable of once they're modded out. I've no doubt they're a shadow of their true potential as a stock vehicle.

For the moment though, my search has moved from the 1M but if comes back into frame I'll see if you're still willing
