Plenty of P cars will appreciate if you buy used. If you had bought a 997.2 RS a year ago even you would have made money as John and I found out. RS 4.0 definitely have appreciated from new even.

came within 30 seconds, a missed phone call, of buying a 997.2 gt3 RS last year with 4500kms for $218k. F%$King didn't get it. ya can't get them now.
friend of mine just bought a 997.2 GT2 RS recently as an investment and toy, $410k, he said thats a steal WTF!! there was a 4.0 RS at sydney porsche as well for the same money and he passed on it as, and i can quote him as saying, "it wasn't him" lol. 4.0 RS are basically gold now. |

I think that car in the original post has popped up a couple times recently. It was a private sale then was for sale at Gold Coast Mercedes. I went and had a look. It's a bit rough around the drivers door trim and bonnet, and it's been modded (tell tale tabs broken in the engine bay and things are looser than stock). I walked away.

Okay so Bris BMW started playing games with the changeover so ending up passing on the black one which I really liked.
Now looking at this one at Motorline which is modded already. Anyone here know the car ? Pretty decent mods if the coil overs are quality and work I would've eventually done myself anyway " This vehicle has some very expensive items fitted Appropovic Exhaust Carbon Roof Spoiler, Carbon Rear Difusser, Carbon Kidney Grills Carbon Rear Spoiler Coil Over Susspension Finished in Gleaming Alpine White with Satin Black Alloys " http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/de.../?Cr=3&sdmvc=1 |

Appropovic exhaust? You'd think the seller would get it right when asking that much.

I went in and drove it on Saturday but no good
Suspension is meant to be coilovers but it was super dooper soft. When you come out of a corner you wait about half a second and it feels like the car is wagging its tail. Worst suspension setup I've experienced in a perf car. A member suggested looking for a switch for the baffle on the akro exhaust but I couldn't find anything in the cabin. Cruising with it was horrible. The drone was completely out of control but it certainly had its moments when hard on it. I still have no idea about the cars history but it looks like its been flogged hard. I found evidence of removed components from the engine bay and plenty of grit which remind me of my tommi mak which I flogged mercilessly around the track. This is now the 3rd 1M I've driven and to be honest I'm moving on to something else. I just dont think the 1M is for me. Its quick for sure but feels somewhat souless what driving normally and even what up it. I'm not sure if I should check out an E92 M3 or wait for the Mustang to come through next year. Rob. |

Hi Rob I doubt you're going to find a 1M that hasn't been flogged. Best case scenario you want to make sure it's been well looked after, no serious crashes and that the mods are tasteful. Good luck.

Thats a very generous offer Sparoz. It'd be great to see what these cars are capable of once they're modded out. I've no doubt they're a shadow of their true potential as a stock vehicle.
For the moment though, my search has moved from the 1M but if comes back into frame I'll see if you're still willing |
