Want to run 19" x 10" wheel can i?

so i finally decided on what rims i want! the style is VMR V710 in Matte black for my Alpine White 135i (car has sport m package)

i have my stock 18" runflat tires (2 fronts are brand new, rears 65% tread left)

i REALLY want 19" rims as i feel thats more of the look for me. given i will sacrifice ride quality. BUT i do not like the run flat ride so i think it may even be better.

My dilemma. i want the winter rim so that the concave is BIGGER and more visually noticeable and of course a wider tire always looks better too.

i dont want to mess around with suspension mods and fender rolling.

what is the smallest size wheel that will fit on a 10" wide rim and what is most suited 265??

i was thinking i would like to run a
265/30/19 rear
235/35/19 OR is 225 better.

i think the front i will need an 8.5" wide wheel?

if i am wrong what is the wides wheel and tire i CAN fit with no modification?

thanks for any help, man my head is spinning trying to think what is best to do?

this won't fit. unfortunately not even close. you need a VERY high offset in the rear. search about this and you'll find enough discussion to keep you entertained til sometime next year.

I used to run 10.5" wheels on my Z, 265 is going to be stretched, and a pain to put on the wheel. I ran 305, but you can get away with 285/275.

I am running 19X8.5 & 19X10, 225/35 & 265/30 but i think you will have to get a custom wheel like i did to get it to work WITHOUT fender modification.

Ok sooo the consensus is that this will combo will not fit!
(with vmr v710 wheels)

With this rim what is the widest 19" wheel i can use and what is the widest tire size I can use (front and backs)

*while staying stock suspension

(seeing if it may be worth keeping 18" rft and using those on a new 18" wheel)

Thanks again guys

You need to start talking offsets when you talk widths since they are very related. Also is your car lowered?

I'd order 19x8.5 et45 fr
19x9.5 et45 r.

If unlowered and you want to play it safe, order 225/35 fr and 255/30 r. It can be hard to find 255/30/19's. Unlowered, a narrow running 265/30 shouldn't rub except maybe with a few passengers. By narrow running tires I basically mean Falkens or Toyos or Nittos.

Car is not lowered and I don't think I plan on making any suspension mods.
So you say 225 front - your running a 235 front is there benefit to that?

As for rear I suppose a 255 is the way to go with no issues?

19x8.5 ET45
19x9.5 ET50
225/35/19
255/30/19

That will be my set up.... This IS the only option as for wheel widths with no suspension mods?

Will the con cavity be a noticible difference if noticible atall?

I didn't see the rear wheel you listed being an option in that model, only saw et45. If it is available in et50 then I'd definitely go with a narrow running 265/30.

235 in the front for me was mostly to make the tires look less stretched.

For sure high plus offsets like we need make wheels look less concave, have smaller lips, etc. There's just no way around it with our cars.

Funny, i just read this last post!

i had 1 comment about my rims looking too WIDE for the tires.
i think when its time to get new rubber i'd look for 235 fronts AND 265 rears for the reason of the tire looking LESS stretched.

i suppose some people like the stretched look though?!

A 19inch rim, on stock suspension will make your car look like it is on a truck lift. Get the 18inch rim, put a beefy tire on it, and with the money saved get a set of lowering springs.

Hmm, for our wheels at least, the offset does NOT change the concavity. Only the width does. IE: 9.5 +45 will have a deeper concave than a 8.5 +45

The highest offset we make the 19x10 in is a +38 offset. Unfortunately, this will not fit the 1-series without body work, a stretched tire and camber adjustment. If it does fit, it'll be a super tight squeeze. I just recommend sticking with a 9.5 +45 or +50

Hi VMR.

I want to run VMR 701 wheels, 18x8.5 front & 18x9.5 rear. Obviously the et45 is needed for the front but would you recommend et45 or et50 for the rear? I plan on upsizing the rear to 255 and lowering the car also but I don't want to roll the fenders.

Hell there,

How about:
Work Meister S1R that I purchased for my 335i, buy looking to get a 135i.
Will these fit on the 135i?
19 - 8.5 et32
19 - 10.0 et35

My apologies for butting in the thread.

that's because they're all the same wheel, just with the hub machined to whatever particular offset is needed. speaking broadly, he's correct that it's impossible to have a lot of concavity or rim depth with our cars... there just isnt that much more width in the fenders than from hub to hub. if you want a wide wheel, most of it needs to sit inboard of the hub face, and therefore have a high offset. theoretically one could also use a lower offset narrower wheel, though the face would look the same, as we're still dealing with a finite amount of spacing between the hub and the fender.

I would say no chance without fender work, those offsets too aggressive for the 1er
