Has anyone done Mid-Ohio?

I've never run on this track and I'm just wondering what to expect. I've checked out the videos on YouTube, but some personal experience would be great.

Dan,

I haven't had any experience with Mid Ohio in person, but it is available using iRacing. If you haven't checked out iRacing yet, I would highly suggest it. Many a real racer is using iRacing for training and practice.

It is a great track, about 30 miles away from me. Very technical. Keyhole, Couresel and Madness are the best turns in terms of challange. You should def. do it.

I think there are only 2 places you have to watch out for that can really mess up you car if you make a mistake. The first is at the end of the back strait (turn 7), if you don't make the breaking zone you can end up in "China beach". And if you go in sideways you will likely roll.

The Second place is turn 11 going into "Thunder Valley". It is off camber and if you go onto the throttle too hard on the outside of the turn you can spin out into the concrete wall and if you do that too far to the inside you can hit the inside Armco. I've seen that turn claim a number of cars.

Those are the biggest places to worry about.

Thanks for the info guys!

I'm still debating on whether or not to go. August is a busy month and this event falls right at the end of the month. Then not even 2 weeks later I have an event at Roebling Road in Savannah. So it'll be a squeeze if I do this event.

I usually do hook up cameras! I definitely want to do it, especially since it's only $350.00. We'll see!

Sorry to hear that you won't be able to Mid Ohio this year.

We, PCA Potomac, do Mid Ohio every year. Unfortunately, it always falls on Mother's Day weekend. Make your plans now. We always have plenty of space. Mid Ohio remains my favorite track and when you get it right, the track flows very nicely. I posted some videos from this years event on Vimeo. Mostly, I prefer to have a few cars in the movie to highlight the lines.

Some of the lines were imaginative.
