Hi Fi Professional

Has anyone here got Hi-Fi Professional?

My wasn't happy with my E46 H/K system, and I didn't order mine, but now I have a feeling of regret. I can still change my order (I think) on Monday.

Just want to know what everyone things of their system.

Cheers

I just have the stock standard stereo and IMO it sound great. Didn't know that it came with sub woofers under the seats till not long ago.

I went the full whack and got the HiFi Pro system with Logic 7.

It is awesome. Thunderstruck by ACDC never sounded so good - especially in the drive-thru pick up at my daughter's school

Some members have posted equaliser settings on this site and it has helped me a lot.

If you can get it, go for it!

The Premium HiFi is fantastic; however, it *is* lacking a bit of bass... The mids and highs are great, in my opinion, but in songs where you're expecting some REALLY deep bass, it is just not there.

The good news is that there is a solution. It does involve a little bit of work, but overall, it's relatively simple and you don't give up your trunk space as it uses the stock under-seat enclosures.

Here's the info:
SWS 8 upgrade with MTX amp! (Install of SWS-8s in an E90)
FULL SWS-8 sub and amp install, 34 pictures, step by step (Install of SWS-8s in an E90)
Wiring Harness Pin-outs for PAC Audio Trunk-LOC
Where is the Power Amplifier?! (In an E82)

And basically, all you need are 2x Earthquake SWS-8s (4 ohm), a decent amp (I'm using a Kenwood KAC-8104D), some Dynamat, Install kit for the amp and a PAC Audio Trunk-LOC. For EVERYTHING, I paid $400.00 (with shipping).

My install should be complete in the next week or two. I'm actually going through the trouble of having some spacers made so I can avoid trying to seal up around the subs with Dynamat and dealing with hot glue, but this is totally not necessary ("Overkill" is my middle name).

This is one thing I'm glad I spent the extra money on. Faithless' "Insomnia" came up on the random setting of the Ipod the other day. It's a great mix so I cranked it up LOUD. Wow! All sounds do deep & clear with bugger all distortion.
Not all people like their music as much as me though so to each their own.

I think if you don't want to waste time upgrading with aftermarket gear it is quite good. But for the price you pay, you can fit something much much better using aftermarket components.

I went with the logic 7 system and Im glad I did. It sounds awsome and for most situations the bass is more than adequate. Somewhere on this forum are equaliiser settings which are a very good. I made minor changes to suit my taste.
I went this way because I liked the oem look and integration as well as not have people pull apart my car to run wires etc. Guess im paranoid about creaks and rattles.

I too went for the Logic 7 Pro. Definitely worth it.
I guess if you are a young Doof Doof music sort of person that is used to have 15" subs in your car, then it probably wont suite.
I am 58 and enjoy everything from 60's disco through to todays assortment and it's fantastic in the car.
I just play directly off a flash drive and set my Logic 7 mixer up as per recomendations off another thread and I could'nt be more happy with the sound.

I went with the Hi Fri Professional but I missed out on the Logic 7. I'm only 22 and I enjoy listening music at high volumes at times and I find the sound system more than adequate. I am also coming from an E46 where I found system worse than any other setup in any other car.

However, it could definately do with more bass but from what I gathered from everyone else's comments, the Logic 7 won't really address this problem anyways. I would definately consider the upgrade but I would toss up whether Logic 7 is worth the extra $800 or so over the already expensive Hi Fi Professional Upgrade option worth about $1200.

I would recommend the Hi Fi Professional Upgrade option and miss the Logic 7 but if you already have all the options you want and need and have cash to throw, why not? Otherwise, I would give it a miss. I used the difference to get heated seats. No regrets here.

I also went with the Hi Fi Professional which is more than adequate for my needs seeing that I have the radio on 95% of the times...

Although my wife wont let me forget that its not sufficient and kicks me for not getting the Logic 7 upgrade.

So it just boils back to your specific needs and wants..

Thanks everyone, I've just emailed the dealer to add the Top Hifi on. Now it's only Hifi and Hifi Professional so I hope it's the one with the Logic 7.

Hi Sparoz - coming from an E46 Harman Kardon into this E82 Professional Hi-fi, I can tell you this system is light years better and in every sense...

Alright, maybe except with regards to one. There are no pretty labels on the speaker grills

You made a good choice!

I am glad Signed the new contract this morning with the variation - the only thing is now I've to pay more for it because I didn't have it with my negotiation - so I am charged the full price + stamp duty.

And really, who wants harmon/kardon labels anyway - if it's Meridian or Dynaudio - that would be different.

but the difference between the logic 7 and just the upgraded hifi loudspeaker system is it just the ability to tune the equalizer better or is it more speakers or what?

I also have the Hifi Professional upgrade, and am quite happy with it... but i wish went the Logic 7 upgrade and skipped the heated seats option. The minimum setting on the heated seats is usually too hot for me!

Having said all that, I don't really know what the Logic 7 sounds like compared to the Hifi Professional though... i should have asked for a comparison at the dealer but it slipped my mind at the time

There's no actual Logic 7 option on the one series. People, including the dealers, still call the Hifi Professional "Logic 7" but it isn't really the same as the full Logic 7 in the 3 series & up.
