Plugs + Coils (6) + Tool = FOUND CHEAP
Thought I would share this
On amazon I found Set of (6) OEM Bosch coilpacks - $165 OEM Bosch Plugs (6) - $70 Sparkplug tool - $6 So for plugs, coil packs, tool i paid $250 with shipping. Much cheaper than I found anywhere else. Search 135i coilpacks on amazon and it should pop up. http://www.amazon.com/Bosch-02215044...S803A9875RRFH3 |

I'm looking to do a 100k miles service on my 08 135. Among other things, my valve cover gasket needs to be replaced, it's time for plugs and I'm thinking of going ahead and replacing the coil packs as a preventive/might-as-well measure.
Are these indeed the same exact packs and plugs I'd otherwise receive from a dealer? Looks like they went up $10 since Joelcn91's initial post but still seems to be a great deal if they're the real deal...

My indy-shop says those are the old style coil packs not the new and improved, thus likely the reason they are such a good deal/so cheap...
Suppose they will work fine as I have 100k miles on the OE ones I have and am only changing them to be preventive and because it is time for a valve cover gasket as well as time to change the plugs...

I mention it because if the coils are a couple hundred dollars in parts, you might just wait until later. *But* that is only if you would be willing to do them yourself. If not, then since they have to come out when doing plugs anyway, I would agree you might as well get them done with the plugs to save on labor. |

Not sure if BMW is going with Bosch anymore. My car has had 2 coils fail already within warranty that were Bosch. Last time I took it in under CPO the dealer replaced all 6 coils with Delphi and 6 new plugs as well. Note my car just hit 58,000 miles!

Decided to bump this thread because i was searching around on the forums and found the link. When i clicked on it, it brought me to an amazon link to just the coils but directly underneath, their " frequently purchased together" section has plugs, coils and tool for $232.45 with free shipping. Just a heads up to those thinking of doing it, or even those like me that put the car away in the winter and want to get some preventative maintenance done while she's in the garage

Just wanted to add that extreme care need be taken in removing plugs especially if you do not know how long they have been in the car. 45K is the interval for 135's but its 100K for 128's and I think that's too long, only for the fact that the plugs may get "frozen" in there.

After reading all of the many many many threads regarding OEM Bosch plugs without the BMW stamp and their not so great performance after the change, I'd totally steer clear of these and the coils. Bosch seems to be a very inconsistent brand if you ask me...I change my 6 plugs at 100,000 in my 128 and used the non-stamped NGK's and they are wonderful. They did have the stamped NGK's originally which is what I removed...coil packs are still original though and no issues. I had a very slight miss and it turned out being the plugs.
