What Coilovers will fit with these wheels and tires?

Hello All,

I just picked up some Apex EC-7 wheels for my 135i and after talking with Joe he said that I can get away with 245/35's upfront (with camber plates) and 275/35 in the rear. I am going to be ordering coilvers with camber plates and have heard that there are issues with some brands and these wheels with larger tires up front.

Does anyone have any suggestions on coilovers that can be used? I am thinking about getting ST's or Ground Controls at this point. Any other recommendations? I am not looking to spend a premium on coilover so I prefer to keep the cost lower than higher, thanks!

Sam

coil overs typically will allow for more room than stock for tire width. GC makes great stuff and has great customer service, theyd be able to answer this question with ease if youd give them a call.

^ Not always the case. On certain coilovers the lower spring perch is positioned adjacent to the tire and can rub. For example with TC Kline DAs, they recommend a 3mm spacer, or better yet you can run a 1" shorter spring so that the spring perch sits above the tire. Contact Apex...they are super cool and can steer you in the right direction.

You should probably buy a set of coils and see what tires fit. Sounds easier and a more certain way of knowing.

This exactly. Most lower spring perches end up right at the edge of the wheel and will rub and because its a larger diameter is less clearance

Thanks guys! I do have a message into Joe @ Apex to get his thoughts on coilovers.
