Catted Downpipe for 2012 135i N55
Whats up yall, I was wondering how I could get past the CEL for a VRSF catted downpipe without tuning my car... spacers, not sure. Any recommendations?

I am hoping to do the same, intstalling the Masata catted downpipe this weekend and even though I'll be tuning the car, I have a O2 spacer since I need to enable the O2 sensor on a "stock tune" every 2 years to pass emissions in Illinois. I am able to do so in my Audi so I'm hopeful this is the same.

Weird, I got AR Catted DP for my 135is and I have no CEL codes on stock software or MHD Stage 2+. I even have PS2. On a side note, I do get SES light when I have an intake on.

I finished the install of my downpipe and other stuff, I haven't driven the car much due to desperately needing an alignment now(and weather was not great), but no CEL codes yet. I do plan to MHD tune the car anyways, in the near future.

Ok, update on this:
I did get a CEL code for the aftermarket downpipe and O2 spacer after a second drive. Today I also purchased the MHD super license and flashed my car to Stage 2, which according to the app, just an upgraded downpipe is recommended. I also specified in the tune settings "aftermarket DPs", but on my first drive the CEL came back on, with the same codes: 2CED - Oxygen sensor after catalytic converter, dynamics, from rich to lean: Slow response. 2D15 - Oxygen sensor after catalytic converter, in coasting/overrun mode, from rich to lean: Delayed response. I thought this tune would disable or code out the after-cat sensor? I'll keep searching, but I'm not sure what to do next. At this point, as far as engine mods, I have: Masata downpipe/Urotuning 45* spacer Injen intake GFB DV+ all aluminum charge pipes Edit: I should also mention I enabled "disable cold start" and "startup roar", as the cold start was loud to me as stock, and now it is even louder, I have neighbors lol. I wonder if disabling cold start is affecting the heatup of the O2 sensors, or whatever? I do love the startup roar, though. I'll keep playing around with settings... I ended up ordering a new after-cat O2 sensor, and removed the spacer as well. I have not had any issues with CEL(on MHD Stage2+) since then.
seems like a coincidence that my O2 sensor went out when installing the Masata Cat, but seems to be the case, I had "slow response" errors until I replaced the sensor |

What's the verdict? did those errors return? I ask because I installed a VRSF free flow to my n55- those two errors come up for me too (2D15/2CED). Before I unleash the parts cannon, wanted to get real-world feedback.

I have put maybe 4-5 drives in the car, it's not my daily driver. But no CEL codes yet, when usually it was 1-2nd drive. So I'm considering the matter resolved.
So in my case, FBO with HFC, MHD Stage2+, no CEL codes AFTER a new O2 sensor. Your results may vary! |
