Carbon mirrors look lovely and complement the black side markers, the black front grille and the carbon wing in a superb way. Black and white contrast details make it excellent. So don't agree with former speaker at all.

I personally love the way the original wheels look. Black wheels are not good looking. Spending money to just do them little darker is not worth it at all and the risk you get a bad job plus easier to scratch/harder to repair if not done by an expert. The original rims looks stellar as is on AW 1M!

My opinion in the matter is that the only other cosmetic change I would do would be carbon mirrors. Nothing more. Carbon fake roofs or black roof looks "need for speed".

The only reason I would do anything else on this car than the above would be for pure track day reasons. But that is quite expensive mods. Cage, real race chairs (not the ones that look race but are dangerous), square race wheels etc. But if the car is not for track days skip it!

BMW performance mods feels original with excellent quality.

Its a thin line between lovely mods that feel OEM and the 135i need for speed look!

Thanks mate for your opinion, will take that all on board also.......to be honest I am happy so far with it's overall appearance, the car in standard form sold itself to me so don't really want to take away from that, just the small touches.....though it's hard not to mess about modifying when you have done it to all your previous cars lol

No plans to track the 1M (except for the odd trip to the ring but then that's not a track day so to speak) as I already have a purpose built track day car that has it all done (cage, fixed bucket seats, harnesses, brakes, adjustable suspension etc etc etc).

I must say I am quite impressed with the BMW Performance mods.....

Re the carbon wing mirrors, I see where you are coming from and somewhat possibly agree in some way, but then I have yet to see a set in the flesh on a AW 1M. I actually like the gloss black and white contrast, in someways a darker mirror cover may lose that appearance and they are a nice mirror set up, but I need to check out the covers first..........other than the wheels in the new years, I think that will be it for external cosmetic changes, but what is your thoughts on a gloss black roof wrap?
For AW I would not mind to wrap the roof, it may look really good. AW is really the colour to play with as long as you wish.

If you wrap the roof it needs to be done by a superb company using the best material. Seen some really ugly versions on the M3 (E9x) in AW. Also seen a lot of matte stuff that just looks plain ugly as the cars have high gloss black windows details etc.

So if done with a touch of class it can look good. I do agree that the car looks very good as is without any changes at all.

I will do the following BMW performance parts: front grille, carbon mirrors and carbon spoiler. Then the Ind high glass side markers with black glass (will change to the original clear glass if it looks to "need for speed"). Would love to get the M mats with orange stitching but not available in Sweden...

Would love the Akra with carbon tips and wireless but the price is plain silly!

best way to go is the wrap, if it don't work out you can always remove it.....

I have a mate who does car wrapping and motorsport livery so I know his work is top notch, would only go a quality gloss black, I don't think I could pull off the matt look with all the gloss black features currently on the car.

Something I will look more into when winter passes......

Yeah I don't think you can go wrong with the BMW Performance parts, and I must say the M mats Jez sorted for us in the UK are of a quality finish, looks good too Akra system is the one if you could justify the outlay which I can not lol

I have ordered (but couldn't get yet) the rear M emblem in black gloss + VO painted from IND as well, since you will be ordering the side gills, you may think about that too. You can check how it looks from the thread about the 1M that they prepared on a customer's order.

My mods (I call them minor corrections) are: Michelin Pilot Super Sports (arriving next week), gloss black BMW Performance front grill, BMW steel (not alu) pedals, IND gloss black + super light tint side gills (may change to clear originals like you) and the IND gloss black+VO hand painted M emblem (will arrive soon).

That's it. I could also have the 1M mats if I could have them here but not that important really to order internationally, maybe after the originals get old/dirty enough. The wheel paint I won't even consider unless I am totally confident with the person/company who will do this because like Aussie all I want is a slightly darker/shadow tone.

Sounds good mate, let me know what you think of the Mich Super Sports, I have ran the Pilot Sport 2's on a number of hot hatches in the past with good affect and don't find them to bad on the 1M, but have read some good reviews on the super sports..........

That will come about at some stage, still only 900miles on the clock and need to hit 1200 for the run in service, first up performance mod appears to have hit a fail for now, KW DDC ECU adjustable coilovers, I have 4mm bumper clearance entering my garage on stock ride height, shame the HLS kit does not fit the 1M as I could do with the ride height adjustability at the touch of a button......... Now looking at ways of modifying my garage entrance to give me the clearance but am not planning of to molestering this car to much as I don't feel it needs for road use, instead i will continue throwing more £ at my track day car.

Aussie i am up for a set of these as well. How did you fix them into place ? Sounds like if the price is right there could be a market for these as i wondered why the calipers didnt come with these from the factory ?

PM me if they are available and we will discuss payment options

Will have some details up very shortly re ordering the brake decals, my mate will send internationally and the vinyl is heat resistant, will consist of 4 logos 2 larger front and 2 smaller for the rear (if you want to fit to the rear caliper).

Perfect. Thanks Aussie - definitely want some.

You will be pleased to know I went through the whole cleaning/detailing process on the weekend and now have the car cover trying to keep it looking that way. The text I sent was early morning on a totally empty dual.

Nice one Kristian, will make for easier cleaning next time and you wont need to spend another 6yrs or so for some time again ; )

I didn't want to ask what the 155 content in that text actually meant, I thought nice mileage for your run to Wales lol
