I think I will go with opening my hand up on the top of the steering wheel, if you can picture that. Used to do it in my B5 S4. I didn't feel like such a tool if they didn't acknowledge back.

High beam flick?
Anyone remember back in the day of the 2002? They all used to flick the high beam @ each other. I remember my dad doing it in his 76 2002tii.

Around here, a quick flash of the high beams means that there's a traffic cop, or speed trap up ahead.

Hey, how about as we pass by, we stick our left hands out the window and try to high 5. Now that would take skill, and possibly the power folding mirror option, which I didn't get, so maybe I'll stick with the peace sign or the simple hand on the steering wheel wave mentioned earlier.

Same here, if a cop sees you do it, you get a ticket for it

Around here, that means , "Go ahead and pull out.. I'll let you go". I can see myself flicking the lights at brethren, looking at the cars ass in the side view mirror, and promptly plowing into the person I just signaled right of way to.

Suby drivers definately make a huge effort to wave. I had an old 2.5RS (turbo) follow me for 3 blocks to wave, then make a u turn and head back. LOL!!!!! I guess the car is so ugly you have to be a car enthusiast to love it and think its sexy, so thats why they wave to each other.
Dont get me wrong, I love the looks and everything about the wrx sti. These feeling dont apply to the new ones that look like saturns!!!!!

Since I know of no other 1 Series owners in my area, I will practice waving at myself in plate-glass windows as I drive by.
BTW, I'm not against "the flash," either....
