I started in '06, some cars shared periods.
R31 silo- LSD, all suspension, rubber, shorter diff gears- rebuilt the car to learn how to work on them, bent it. R31 ti- bought 3days after the death of the above car. Got the suspension and ssr meshies from the above, good tow hack. Tried to kill it and failed. Datsun 1600- built- stroked l18, diff, stripped out, all suspension incl custom billet arms etc. this was ready for rally bar cage, stupid ex made me sell it, should have sold her. Aero top MA71 supra. Cruiser for the ex. Replacement r31 tow hack, moded- suspension, motor etc. with 4.11's was quicker than any domestic tow hack. Datsun 1600- 230rwkw sr20, 850kg. Stagea- modified, 160awkw great suspension setup. Managed to fit an L18 in the boot! R32GTST- modified. 235rwkw. 1200kg. Cage. Semis. Should have kept it. 200x accent- run around daily. 2005 130i, so far only done the BBK. The record was 7purchases in 12months. I'm 23. In hindsight should have bought a house, or m3. I enjoy modifying and driving. |

I don't have the one source of income either. So judging someone's full financial situation based on a forum (?) leads to incorrect generalisations. My financier is also my investment bank so they are in the best position to make such decisions. |

Excuse me for judging what you have so kindly posted on these forums for the last 3 or so years... Let's take a trip back memory lane shall we?
So whatever job you were doing in PR/'government relations' when you first got the 125i, you got some sort of bonus in which you could have got an M3. Then there was talk of modding because you had so much cash to spare, which never really happened. Then sometime you were having trouble getting out your contract because seemingly you couldn't afford the car (if I remember correctly, you were no longer in that job position anymore?) Then you started a new job/partnership with someone in (PR?) and all was rosy again. Still not much modding going on, unless you count black grills. Then suddenly you stopped that job, and were a professional detailer last year. Which only lasted 6 months or so? And now currently at you super high paid job in Canberra. Obviously, there's a lot that goes on in your life that we don't know or hear about (and we hear a lot about it!). But it just seems... 'odd' that for someone who chops and changes and has so many issues, suddenly goes from a $60k car, to a $300k car in days. Judge me for judging you all you want, but this is the information you have given us over the years... [edit] PS - But seriously, if this is something you can afford and have earnt it with hard work/investing I respect that and well done. And like everyone has asked, pics pics pics! |

hahaha nah I stand by the comment. All props to someone who can earn a car like that with their own two feet. Especially with Tay's history!

Who cares how he affords it? It's his money to spend as he wants, he isn't harming anyone here or you so what's the big deal? Sounds and reads like jealously to me, I could be wrong. But there's enough thinly veiled digs in your post(s) that make me wonder why its such a big deal to you? |

I'll make a correction to BBK -
1. I set up my first business in mid-2009. That business is still operating, successful and I have stood back from hands-on operation. That business has provided steady income since establishment and was set up with grass-roots funding. 2. I set up my second business in mid 2011. Again, that business is still operating and, like above, I have stood back from hands-on operation (pardon the pun). 3. I've changed jobs once in the last 2 years, and it has clearly been a good change. 4. Casting aspersions on someone's financial situation based on various assumptions from a forum is somewhat a little silly - unless it's a major troll, but then again, I don't think someone would try to look that silly for the purposes of trolling. 5. When I purchased the 125, I could have got something a lot better, but I settled on it due to my financial aims (yes, some young people do plan these days). I put the rest away in a mixture of investments (superannuation for long term, a higher risk portfolio for short term and high interest term deposit for the mid term). I don't live beyond my means. So, there's where I correct you. |

Tay, interesting to hear your point of view. As I said, everyone here only reads what you post. And to hear how one year you struggle to cover the payments on a 125, then only a year or two later you're rolling in a supercar? Questions pop in my head. Add to this the immaturity, (street racing et al) and attention seeking behaviour ('I'm quitting this forum thread') too...
And let's be honest here, you've talked a lot of sh1t before so things just didn't add up. I like to question things in case nobody has noticed... [edit] And let's not forget we are dealing with a guy who made up multiple accounts to spruke his detailing business and set up another competitor to get banned. Says a lot about a person right there... [/edit] But good on you for doing so well. I'm jealous of anyone having something I would love! If there's any Aston in the range I could have, it's the V12 Vantage for sure. Last edited by BBK; 05-09-2012 at 07:53 PM.. |

I would however love to see an image of your Vantage, althought unlike some others I probably don't need to see a photo with you in it holding both the car keys and a copy of today's newspaper... Quote:
