Melbourne meet and coding session.
Hi guys, just thought I'd put up a thread in the 1 addicts to all bmw owners for anyone interested in a melbourne meet. Original posted thread was in the 3/4 series Aussie forum but thought I might spread the word on the other forum sites to any interest.
Anyone one with experience in coding or mods/tuning and interested in a meet and session to show other members/teach other members would be a great benefit for a friendly catch up. I got a few interests already but would like to see more numbers before launching one. Cheers. |

If I'm around, sure.
I should still have my coding stuff somewhere if people need a "how to", but it's pretty straight forward. |

Spring 2015 melbourne meet
Due to the overwhelming interest on other local forum sites that I have posted this thread on, Melbourne meet will be coming!!!
Sorry guys, totally forgot about the cruise day. I've changed the meet and coding session to now Sunday 15 November at 9am in Port melbourne. City centre so everyone can attend (makes it easier so any east siders, west siders, northern peps can still come and catch up). Good morning coffee in the area, great atmosphere, nice cruise down the beach, meet other members and enthusiasts who share the same passion, share experiences and knowledge (especially if you know how to do coding to others that are interested) and show off your beauty to all!!!!. Doesn't matter what series, or model (E or F) you have, if it's a Beemer it deserves to be there! I'll have my digital camera ready for some photoshoot of the event. I myself am a newbie to the forum and would love to learn from others myself, so don't be shy. No haters or wankers please. Come along for a good gathering people. I'll post the exact location when closer to the date. Please PM me if you would like to attend. |

I am in for that date. Will bring laptop, hard drive, DCAN cable and some networking gear.
Would be handy if someone had a 240V sine inverter so we can run mains powered networking gear. Would be happy to attend a meet and show people how to use the tools. I have BMW standard tools: INPA - Diagnostics NCSExpert - Coding WinKFP - Flashing firmware updates Tool32 - low level commands BMW TIS - Service manual software up to 2008 BMW WDS - Wiring diagram system Also have ISTA which is the latest tools but have only got the service manual functionality working. I suggest anyone who wants to learn bring in a notepad or something to take notes as theres quite a bit to remember when doing coding. Also bring your DCAN cable if you already have one. My BMW Standard tools VM is 50GB so make sure you have enough hard drive space. This is a ready to run virtualbox VM so all you need is a cable and you can start coding/diagnosing/flashing etc. If you want ISTA virtualmachine its 140GB and only the service manual works. Works on any platforms, download here prior to the meet: https://www.virtualbox.org/

Also I think efficient dynamics (gear change indicator suggestion on cluster) and I think 6AT have the same issue with the text not displaying nicely on two lines on the cluster

Yes, by disabling the high beam icon on the cluster (high beam assist will still work) you can get the text ot display on two lines. If you don't have high beam assist it might be some other options reserving space on the cluster and making it not draw on two lines.

Ok people,
Details of the Meet are below: Date: Sunday 15th November 9am Address: 100 Liardet Street, Port Melbourne (infront of Edwards Park) and Dow Street. Plenty of parking there. Also next to Bay street are plenty of cafes, so great for all you coffee lovers who wanna grab one before the meet. Please reply to this thread if you are attending so I know numbers (already have over 20 replies in my PM). I'll try and provide morning tea for everyone but please confirm you are attending so I know how much to cater for. Meet will be for all Bimmer owners, so don't be shy, come say hello to others on the forum and check out their build, chat and share. There will be some experts attending who can do some car coding (vtl your the man) but anyone who knows how to do it, please come along and show others. Please bring a laptop and a notepad if you want to learn and take down notes. Afterwards, a mini-cruise down by the bay along Beach Street through to Albert Park and the back end of Port Melbourne to finish off the morning... I'll be bringing out my camera ready for a photoshoot.... See map below: https://www.google.com.au/maps/place...3730c1bb2906bc |
