What is autozone equivalent in Germany?

I'm in the ramstein area and looking for the autozone equivalent? I thought is was alu or alt or something to that, but searched online and couldn't find anything. Just looking to pick up some car detailing stuff. Thanks and yes I looked at the bx/kmcc, but nothing there really.

ATU!

A.T.U. = Auto-Teile-Unger = Auto Parts Cheap

Plug in your German zip code here and you can find the nearest store to you!

http://www.atu.de/pages/service/filialen/f_index.html

I prefer buying my parts from Stahlgruber, though. That is where I buy my German Castrol (RS Edge LL-4) oil for about 11 euros per liter w/o German tax.

http://www.stahlgruber.de/

There are also many Bosch Service Centers around that sell discount parts too.

What are you looking for??? Look in your local yellow pages (Gelb Seiten - http://www.gelbeseiten.de/yp/quick.yp ) under "Auto Teile".

The Praktikar (sic) by the Opel circle has a good seletion of Sonax products and sometimes they have P21s products. Thats where I pick up my wheel cleaner, autowasch. I pretty much order sealant etc online. The ATU in K town has some Sonax etc but not as much as the Praktikar.

Praktiker Baumarkt ???

That is where you guys buy car stuff? Well.. I guess. But it is like going to Real SB (Grocery store) to buy that stuff. You guys are paying way too much then!

When I look at stuff in REAL... like PS21 wheel gel cleaner... that stuff sells for 19 euros. When I go to Stahlgruber, I pay less than 9 euros for the same stuff. I just give them a VAT form and they give me a pretty good discount.

Just like my 5L jug of Castrol RS Edge oil... it sells for around 79 euros at REAL or at other places for 99 euros... but at Stahlgruber it lists for 69 euros. I give them a VAT form and I pay around 53 euros last time (I think?). Gotta buy some this week! lol When I don't have a VAT form handy... they (Stahlgruber)give me the "good guy" discount and throw my parts bill onto the Polizei's discount code. I still pay 19% tax, but the discount is pretty good. But not as good as my VAT form.

Actually the Praktiker here had the sonax wheel cleaner for 2 euro than the 2 ATU's. Last time I went they had a sale on the double size sonax wheel cleaner for the same as the smaller. I've only ordered P21s online but have seen it in many places. Sounds like you have a good hook up for stuff though. I need to get on the "Good Guy" plan somehow...haha

Yea... I don't think so either. There is one in Wiesbaden, Mannheim and Saarbruecken.

Use this link to input your city and German zip code - to find the nearest Stahlgruber store.

http://www.stahlgruber.de/vhs/index....eutschland#ges

...and here is a listing of all the cities they are located in:

http://www.stahlgruber.de/vhs/index....uebersicht.php

Throst is also another good place to buy high quality auto parts. Both Stahlgruber and Throst are where the profesional auto repair shops go to buy their parts, paint and body shop stuff. Kind of like a Mattos back in the states.

You can look at this map to locate the closest Throst store:

http://de.trost.com/Standortkarte/ta...4/Default.aspx

No. No membership is needed at Throst. Just bring a VAT (for no German 19% sales tax). They will know what account to put your parts on.

Some Gross handle places like: Metro - you need to show German papers from the Amt(goverment) saying you are a business - then you can shop there. Metro is kind of like a Sams Club or Price Club back in the states. But as far as I know they don't sell car parts.
