I havn't gone lower but have looked into the BMW perf suspension. Pretty sure you can get the springs seperate. On another note I believe Spacers are illegal in Germany...so is window tinting on the front windows but I plan on that too.

Anything an american does to a car is NOT inspected by TUV. Base inspects us, so whatever we do our cars is technically our biz. Also, they (Vehicle Insp) has to show BY REGULATION where it would be detrimental to the car. I had the same issues when I had my old E30 with the idiots at the Kapaun inspection place. I had camber correction kit on the rear and they told me that it was not allowed. It got to the point where they had to pull TUV and the USAREUR reg and since it did not state that I could not do the mod they had to suck that one up.......with alot of disgust

Nick - I have heard(!) that we ARE subject to German kfz laws - we have German lic plates and this was one reason they did away with the old "AD/AF/HK" USA/Nato tags.

Even though we go thru a different inspection process... IF you get caught by the Polizei AND they find something that should not be on your car(like tinted front windows or spinner or what ever)... they can indeed make us pay: via driving lic points & euros and a ticket. Maybe this is not true but that is what I have heard from some MP's I know. ?

This about the same I got from the Security Forces people I asked. They said the Polizei probably wouldn't just stop you but if you get stoped for say a random registration inspect, been in two near the base here, they will pop you then. Thats the reason I decided to leave the tint off... at least for now.

Wow, didn't know that. But how would the Polezei check to see if the things on the car are "approved" or not? I understand the tint part, but the other things aren't like we can pull a Fahrzeugbrief and show them.

Time to do some researching again........

Not sure if they do but that would be ironic. The Germans I know who mod or have modded say you can't do spacer due to the speeds they drive on. Doesn't make sense to me since allot of people that track their car have them etc....

Weel, I have the Eibach Springs, 100% Tüv, closes the gap perfectly.
Military Inspection: Besides beeing a joke, I do think it's main purpose is to check the safety to be up to par with the German Tüv. Just without the stupid stupid limitations.
Oh, and spacers are road legal in Germany, as long as you take the right ones.
Oh and while we are here, any one any 18" for sale in GER?

Where did you have the Eibach's installed? Cost? Have you tracked your car yet?

Hi Rick, Installed them here at BMW Auto Albert where I work now....
I am not planning on tracking my car. For that purpose I'd suggest a KW V2 or 3, the AC Schnitzer Suspension or the BMW PP Kit.
Having said that, I think I'll take a spin around the ring in May while the meet....It's been a while....

Oh and cost: Springs: Roughly €160 /w tax, Install not more than an hour of labour and alignment, well, another hour tops. That's like worst case.
