Rick let me know what your dealer says on the software updates. I hope I don't have to get them since my 135 will be here end of May.
Also, I like your avatar. I will have to let you make me one once mine gets here.

That's wierd Rick. Everytime I ask my BMW Zentrum about any recalls or SW updates... they look my info up and say my car is ok. I have never gotten a SW update. Even after the seat belt recall. And I am on the original HPFP too. ?

They never told me about any updates until my first HFPF issue. I was not a happy camper. Over here the guy at the dealer lets me know in advance.

Maybe the upgrades are be due to the build time/date of your car. When did you get you car, I also have a 2011 135i that I got in Dec 2010 and I have not heard or been told about any needed updates for mine. Wondering what the upgrades are for? did you ask why you need new software updates on a 2011 model car-it sounds a lil weird to me

That's strange Dack because I'm located in Europe and still I had to do SW update and they replaced my HPFP and all injectors + belts and rear light seals. They were all on the list when they checked my keyfob.
And car runs much better with new SW, no changes on iDrive

Well... my car's build date is Dec, '09. I have a 2010 model 6MT with no iDrive. IEarly on I did have all six injectors and spark plugs replaced. I have also had the rear tail lights replaced under warranty and also the seat belt warranty. But I have never had the HPFP replaced - as far as I know.

Part of the problem over here in Germany is when you have warranty work done... the dealer gives you no written record of what was done! Nothing. They just give you the car back and say it is fixed.

Maybe I should try a new dealer?

I don't get why needing a software update would make anyone unhappy. My understanding is that they do them pretty frequently, often for pretty minor things like tweaks to the HVAC system, etc.

It's like an iPhone update. Just do it. They are usually making improvements to different functions. There should be no worries on your end.

That has been one thing I have complained about! (cold air thru center vents when the heater is on) But still no SW update. I think I might try a new dealer.

I also have an infrequent 6FL/USB problem where the radio HU will not see/read my USB stick. I have even tired different sticks/thumb drives. Still the same.

They did the same to me. No paperwork for warranty work. By what the guy told me that it was BMW policy....?

Guess they figure that since it's stored in the FOB/computer they don't need to print anything. Did the same with the wifes Mini. Fixed it but no paperwork.
