Isn't 1 hour the minimum charge for most places?

Ha, that's what I thought cause I've seen car bulbs at walmart go for $50 no way at a BMW dealer. Doesn't the owners manual show how to change the bulb??

i'm popping into this thread b/c I did the angel eye mod and of course got water inside the housing. I'm out of warranty, but I think it's just the headlight that needs to be replaced. I'm taking it to BMW to get it all figured out. Then, if it's just the headlight, I'm using this link:

Since we're on the subject about headlights, how hard is it to replace a burned out angel eye? I'm just curious cause i see bimmers all the time with them burned out and i know some day it will be me.

Just to replace the bulb? Easy and cheap.

Check this link out for the bulbs. I got replacement bulbs and the process was very easy to do. Not worth paying BMW for 10min worth of work.

I did the math on another thread posted awhile ago. There was a user in Dubai whose bulbs/ballasts failed after 70k miles. It should have last longer, but my conclusion was the constant extreme heat and his using them as DRL's cut short the life of the product. I wouldn't advise running HID's as DRL's. Sure it looks cool, but if you don't want the headache of dealing with dead lights I would leave them off and save them for when you need them. I use theretrofitsource.com when I retrofit HID's. They sell bulbs at a great price, and there is a selection. BMW uses 5000k D1S 35W(k is for Kelvin) bulbs if you are looking to just replace bulbs. Morimoto and Osram make reliable bulbs and it would be unwise to get 50W bulbs, as our ballasts can not sustain that extra 15W needed to supply those 50W bulbs.

I use the halos for DRL, as of my knowledge i believe if you program the car for DRL headlights it uses the inner bulb which is not xenon.

Thanks though! Now I get that the Kelvin value just represents the color |
