It's funny, as much as I love my 1, I still think the e46 is a damn near perfect design and definitely "classically" better than the e82 (to my eye). At the same time, I love how unique the 1 continues to be.

I will second that to some degree, though mine may be more limited. I think the e46 M3 is slightly better looking, and has a better designed interior layout, too. Especially since for my crippled butt I would be comparing a DCT to an SMG, I wish I could take our engine and transmission and put it in that body. I had and occasionally have still considered picking up an e46 M3, but don't want an SMG and man, when you compare exhaust sounds...BLEH! Stock e46 M3 sounds so tinny and crappy and can't hold a candle to our amazing sound. Looks-wise though, I will always love that e46 m3 as it's a beautiful and classic looking car and far and away the best looking BMW to me at least.

Wonder if one day an M2 will change our mind, though somehow I doubt it. I'd also say the E46 M3 is just slightly better looking than the 1M. |

Hey I'm Kristen or kpro which ever is easier. I'm the FNG here. I've owned my 135i for a couple of years now. It used to belong to one of the OG members here my good friend Steve. Anyways, it had quite a few tasteful mods when I purchased it, and I've tweaked it here and there with new parts and pieces. I have a long list of mod's, one of my favorites being the OS Giken Super lock LSD. This is my 1dirty5:

Hey kristen! So if you look in the farrrr upper right corner of Kristen's second picture, you see the wheel and part of the front of an Imola red ZHP. I believe that is my old car. Pic taken at ZHP mafia reunion two years ago. Kristen's 1 is awesome.

That's funny, I'd say the majority of the public seems to think the exact opposite of you, although I've never quite gotten why so many people find the 135 to be so ugly. Not that I care all that much cause I think it looks great, but I've always been surprised by how polarizing the look of the 135 is and how people really hate our cars for whatever reason. That's fine, then they don't get to ride in it and can listen to the beast angrily drive off. =)

You guys see these recently "released" pics of the M235i in advance of friday some bad employee took?
Sadly, I gotta say the front doesn't look as bad as I thought it would, though the side shot looks identical to our cars it seems. Don't like the silver mirrors AT ALL, as black ones would look so much better and I don't like integrated turn signals in them (used to bother me on S5, which it looks like it's trying to copy Audi S designs). The 313s are much better looking wheels too I think. http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=903950 |

I don't get why people are saying THIS car is the rebirth of the e46 though when it's not that different than our car, just a couple of inches longer. Still hate the wheels on there. Our cars I think look more aggressive and meaner, but Friday should be interesting. I also don't know why they call it the M235i as opposed to simply the 235i. Makes me think maybe they won't really offer an M2. Who knows. In other news, I hit the 2500 mile mark as I pulled into work and took a pic as I left early. She turns 6 months old somehow on November 3. Where does the time go. |

I like the way the 2 looks. It's like they took the E46 and E82 and bred them.

has anyone pursued removing some of the sound insulation to make it easier to hear the exhaust? it's SO LOUD from outside the car, but i feel there is so much insulation within the car that it could be even better without some of it. |

Or open the sunroof, too? We're going to read about you in the news in a couple of months in the dead of winter that you froze to death driving your car with windows down in -20 degree weather with the windchill so you could hear that exhaust. But, they'll report you died with a smile on your face. |

Car is in for first BMW paid oil change and a few other things:
- fixing rear decklid rattle (AGAIN) - replacing armrest (extremely noisy) can y'all tell I'm OCD? - brake fluid flush (gotta get the ATE blue out of there as it is not low viscosity and I'm starting to be able to tell the difference) - I'm paying for this. So I have an F30 320i. It might be xdrive. Who cares. It's terrible. The steering feels like it's linked together with overcooked spaghetti. And I left my friggin' garage door opener in my car. First world problem. Actually, this whole whiny post is a stupid first world problem. hahahaha
