Yea to clear that up, here in Ontario there's the beginner classes such as the ST class, and then when you move into the GT classes, there's 6 (GT6 - GT1).. The goal would be to get all the way to the GT3 maybe even GT2.. My father used to drive for BMW Canada in GT2 back in 1993, so you can see why I'd like to get there as well... I'm not sure what all other cars run in those classes, but my guess would be the M3 GT3 and Porsche GT3 cars.

I understand that, but with a proper set up suspension you don't have to use your brakes as much as you may think... But again, when it comes time for larger brakes, the BMW performance big brake kit appeals to me because I prefer BMW pads over other manufacturers... That's just my opinion on that

Sorry, voting either troll or at least "dreaming of hitting the lotto, what do I buy?" post. I'll believe you when you post a picture of your front-halved, chrome-moly frame 135i with the single piece CF front end that you'll need to get even remotely close to 2000lbs.

You could spend a million dollars if you wanted... But the plan is to build a car that can keep up with those cars without spending truck loads of money.. Even persay we spent half that amount, still would be amazing on our part to have such a car at half the cost...

Wow, You have fun when your pads fail and you go running into a rail.
That is if your car ever actually makes it out from behind the computer. I ran a stock Z4M with PFC 06 Pads (Full Race Endurance Pads) and they were light years better than the OEM pads. I'm sorry, but you don't have any track experience if you really think OEM pads are sufficient. |

Well I did come here for information regarding high horsepower achievability, but doesn't seem like I'm getting that reaction... I'll keep you guys posted on our build and let you know how close we can get this car to 500whp and 2,000lbs!

To make that kind of power, talk to ilikebmxbikes. He just did an engine swap to the e92 m3 engine. That's how you add power that's not going to explode our blocks. If you're trying to pump as much as possible out of the 6-er, you're looking at a new turbo setup.
Forum link Storefront To end the brake discussion, you'd be selling yourself short with the stock brakes. You need a BBK for cooling and to run true race pads. Stoptech trophy kits are really stellar, but you can also get solid bolt ons from brembo. You're going to need to redo basically everything on the suspension for your car. Talk to BRRacing or Evolution racewerks for their recommendations as they've both had true 135i race builds. I'd put a rough cost estimate at 55-60k USD to achieve those sort of goals, with an extra 10k stashed away for a spare engine. |
