High(er) mileage N55ers

Just cruising along today thinking that my mileage is sorta high.. wondering what my other N55 brothers are at mileage wise, and what kind of problems you've had. I'm sitting at 71,5xx after about 400 miles today.. I ride her hard

Guess it's a bad thing I created this thread.. Blew my turbo out right around 71,6xx.. lol. Just my luck, and the first full-blown turbo failure i've ever seen on an N55!

If it makes you feel any better, 70,000 isn't uncommon on many platforms for turbo life. Turbo's are wear and tear items anyways. Now it's upgrade time!

How often did you change the oil? I wouldnt say its common. I have had turbo cars with waay more mileage and not blow a turbo. My friends Eclipse is sitting at just over 200k on the stock turbo. No problems besides the wastegate housing being cracked a little.

Not an oil issue.. I tipped into throttle in 4th gear, let out and heard an oddly loud backfire. Shortly after, the turbo started making awful noises and burning oil. Pulled the DP today and found what looks to be a melted exhaust wheel. I can only assume this is tune-related. I'll probably be doing the Pure Turbos stage1 upgrade, then do some logs and see what's going on.

Woah this is the first I've heard of Pure Turbos n55 swap. Let us know how it goes.

I'm at 72k miles on my 2011... no major problems to speak of (i shouldn't have said that). I do have some issues with the car wanting to stall when I come to a stop - there's a few threads on this issue and I haven't had any luck with a definitive diagnosis.

88k, no major issues. Turbos performing well within spec, car needs a DMTL pump replaced but that's a very minor job.

You dont have an N55 if your car is an 08... you have a N54, not what is being discussed in this thread.
