Can't make up my mind...Blue water or TiAg

I'm currently in Afghanistan and trying to decide what color I want to order, but I can't make up my mind between Blue Water and Titanium Silver. I tested drove a monaco when I went on R&R and I loved the car but wasn't really feeling the color. Can you help me out please?

Both still available for 2009? Presume it is too late to order 2008? I think both are great. I went with the blue water.

silver is a lot more common, but bluewater is a bit too soft/feminine for my tastes (just my opinion, please don't flame).

TiAg! No doubt about it!

It looks fantastic and classy. It's not trendy. It's so easy to clean. It's a solid winner.

Blue Water is certainly very nice, and somehow looks better on the convertible than the coupe, IMO. Now, consider if resale means anything to you, because it will be much easier to deal with the TiAg when you are through with the vehicle.

That said, get what you prefer!! It's going to be your car. Good luck.

Between the two, I would go with the TiAg, but then, don't listen to me, because I'm torn between BSM and Montego!

I had an E46 3 series convertible in Steel Blue, (very similar to Blue Water). It was sharp looking. Some of my friends thought it was a little "feminine" looking. All I can tell you is women LOVED it. So if you like it, and women like it and keep coming up to you talking about how nice it is, how's that a bad thing? That being said, colors are a very personal decision, so good luck in your search, and have fun with it.

This from someone who chose black which is a shade and also not a color.

I would go with TiAg too. It's a classic sports car color.

I knew someone would call me on that. The difference is people view silver as a safe, unobjectionable color. It's bland and blends in too much.

Keep in mind this is coming from someone who is busy removing all silver/chrome from the exterior of the car. Black grilles are on, black wheels are next. I'd replace my aluminum interior trim with the CF if it was cheaper.

Well, if I had a black car I would also remove anything silver or chrome as well. In order to make it less "bland" I got a coral red interior. But, when you see the TiAg in person it is pretty striking as it really shines.

Was recently looking for an '08 1 series in stock and called around and found - not silver - but nothing but Black. Complained to the rep that was helping me and his response was BMW dealers view Black as their ultimate safe color so they order tons of them. He said management views black as safe and conservative. He said the older types really go for Black.

As for the original question - silver vs. blue water - I like both alot but Titanium looks great on the one in person. It really does shine and the red coral interior is just perfect with that color.

That's just plain stupid. Sorry, no offense, but it is.

I chose and own a Speed Yellow Porsche Carrera! My 135i Coupe was Jet Black! I've had a red Ferrari, and previous Porsche Targa in Red! I've owned a White Corvette and own a white SUV! I've had an Indy Blue Mini Cooper S!... and a very lengthy list goes on and on with plenty of proof that I'm not "afraid to choose a color".

My TiAg 135i 'vert is absolutely stunning, and that's the color I chose.

One great thing about Blue Water is that it doesn't show dirt or dust. I haven't washed it in a week and it still looks great. I'm really happy with the color on the vert and get a lot of complements.

I saw a blue water convertible at the dealership. All I can say is 'Wow'. Fantastic color on a convertible. I have yet to see it in person yet on a coupe.

I'd go for silver. Blue is just too feminine. By the way, what color was the car you had for a test drive?

Garage List
2008 135i  [6.50]
Let's just say that blue water is the least aggresive color. In a vert with the right interior (lemon or savanah) it can be super classy.
Silver, on the other hand, is like AW in that it's kind of a blank pallet for you to personalize because it goes with a lot of other colors and finishes.

I really apprecaite all of your comments looks like I'm still undecided... I thought the same thing as most that the silver is just a "SAFE" choice. But on the other hand I haven't gotten the chance to actually see the blue water so I would say that it would be a "risky" choice, even though I have seen some pictures of it on the forums. I got to admit it looks TIGHT. In the pictures it looks somewhat; silver, white, and a solid blue. What does it look like in person? My last car was a tC Black on Black, it was hard to keep up and I lived right next to a power line so I had bird dropping just about every other day that I had to clean... sucked this time I'm going to be more selective in where the house is located. Anyhow does anyone have pics of either they wouldn't mind sharing.
-And Lexington one of the reason I thought about Blue Water was because not everyone has one like AW. So I hear you.

And to answer the question about the test drive: the color was Monaco Blue Metallic, I drove it in Nipomo, CA which was a great place to test the car... which is now why I really want one badly.

Silver is Golden

I ordered a 2009 135i Coupe with Silver, and Terracotta/Black with Light Burl Walnut trim.
