Has anyone used a CTEK with their cigarette plug adapter? I realize the socket must be live when ignition is in the "off" position for it to work. My car is not nearby or I'd check, but can anyone tell me if the socket stays live when off?

I vaguely recall trying that... The lighter socket is off when the car is off.
