Blocking one side of the quad exhaust?

So I have a Bastuck Quad exhaust on my 135i right now. But due to the installation the right side will just either hang lower or stick out too much. I really like the sound of it though. I've been thinking if I remove the right side extended pipe and seal it, will it cause problem for the engine or the muffler? So basically go from a quad back to dual again.

Why not just have a muffler shop cut and adjust the right side to fit right?
