MOTUL oil
My Dad's VW Tiguan (w same Gti engine) was running on Castrol 5W-30 and encountered oil consumption from time to time. So I upped the viscosity to 0W-40 but this time decided to try Motul's E-tech (ester based). Man.. the results were pretty decent, smooth as hell! Much less chatter and it was always willing to rev and ready to go.
So I just had to try it on my 1M. I'm coming from Castrol 5W-30 then to Mobil 1 0W-30. Desperately hunted around for 5W-30 and finally found some. Motul 8100 Eco-nergy (more PAO based I believe). Results: not as smooth as the E-tech and only on the 2nd day I felt how eager the car was to rev and once again always willing to go. Engine slightly quieter but much smoother than both Castrol & Mobil 1. Performance horsepower wise I couldn't feel any difference but the 'responsiveness' is amazing. Now I know the 8100 spec isn't Group V based oil.. etc. But I'm so happy with how the car performs now it's always going to be Motul. If the 8100 is this good I can only imagine how the 300V would perform. |
