Congrats, and Merry Christmas!
Of course, you gotta post pics. I'll be looking for them. I am intrigued with the Space Grey/Savanna combo. It is a combo that never entered my mind, and just shows how many great combos are possible. Sorry to see you have to put the snows on it right away, but you can't avoid that in Edmonton. Enjoy! |

Actually, Edmonton BMW. They had it in stock, whereas Bavaria didn't...with nothing close by either. I did get the standard NABMClub discount off MSRP and some other considerations.

Unlike the US market, we have more exterior colour choices, but less interior colour combinations. I would dearly have loved to get a LeMans Blue but BMW Canada only imports them with black interiors...which is not my cup of tea. The SG / SB is quite nice together, with our interior trim choice, and overall, it's a pleasingly bright and spacious look. The windows will have to be tinted though.

Congrats! Like all above, I'm eager to see pics. If you can, please include a dash shot when you post. I hear the nav in '09s is improved from '08s, but have not heard specifics (and do not want to go off-topic here). A look-see would be much appreciated.

So I picked the car up yesterday, and gingerly drove it 4km down a main drag to the company I'm getting to do the 3M and tint (the stealership was far too expensive). It'll be done tomorrow (after being allowed to dry inside overnight) and any touchups required. I'll have it back at noon, then a 5km drive to home.
Winter wheels/tires would have been handy, but alas I couldn't source wheels locally, but I have this three-day window in the weather before Saturday's -23C (low of -32C expected by Monday morning). When home, it can sit safely and await its winter boots...me being content that it's not sitting at the dealership...where I can't gaze upon it. Pictures will follow soon.

Hooray, my wheels arrived today (took the day off work to be sure I'd get them on the first delivery attempt) and they're at my local Kal Tire to get the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5's mounted -- I'll have them back tomorrow and will be putting them on the car that evening, so the car will finally be on the road by Thursday.
Nothing like a week's delay between picking it up and actually getting to drive it.

Pics
Took a little while (it's been too freaking cold lately), but here's the car (sporting its winter boots -- studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5 tires on Sport Edition F10 wheels with BMW centre caps), tint, and 3M film. Keen-eyed spotters may find the oil-pan heater cord in the grill.

After this morning's 10cm snowfall, I can speak to loose snow handling as opposed to the ice / hard-pack that we've had for the last three weeks. I certainly enjoy the DTC mode (as opposed to the kill-joy DSC default mode) but the car's plenty powerful enough to make DSC/DTC Off mode a no-go.
The car handled the drive to work this morning with aplomb...the back end's gone white, due to the back-draft of powder...so I've got a two-tone BMW. God I'm enjoying this car a lot...might have to sell the MX-5 and get a second.

Looks great, but I'm a bit confused -- how'd you get the M-Sport Package already? Wasn't it just announced a few days ago, or has it been available in Canada all this time?
