Replacement Tire Sizes

It seems that BMW picked 'orphan' tire sizes (both front and rear) for the 135. If one wanted to stay with 18' wheels, but didn't want one of the 3 tires listed on tire rack that were an exact size match, what (if any) other sizes would be advisable?

225x40-18 in front offers a lot of options. 35 aspect ratio in the rear is more difficult but not impossible, especially if you add 255x35-18 into the mix.
