Scratched Xenons!!

Hey everyone,

Im pissed offff big time!! I just discovered that my right xenons have been deliberately scratched! As you can see in the pics, the front cover has been scrathed in a weird pattern by some f****** asshole. Since my car is a lease, I don't want to spend too much money to fix it. I think my only option would be to replace the cover? I'm not sure if this is even possible. I'm probably gona have to live with it for the next 2.5 years. F***, I can just kill the bastard who did this! Any advice on what I can do? thanks!

I am not sure but I believe the scratches on the plastic cover can be buffed/polished out. GL

The pattern looks like an outline of a human body part I rather not refer to in name, lest there are kids around

Seeing that pisses me off so much. Hopefully you can get it buffed/polished out. Make sure to tell us how it gets resolved. Hope this isn't the beginning of a new trend.

Yeah I think that is your best shot to reduce the visible lines. I have used it before and it works great. Meguires makes a clear plastic solution that I use on my Maxima's dash that seems to make the lense new again. Oh Bav auto makes a headlight repair kit that is suppose to renew fading and I believe scratched headlights. Check them out and see. Good luck!

What a bunch of AZZES. I would call a place that deals with headlights. I wish you would have had the 3M clearguard on them, like me, then it wouldnt have messed up the headlight.

Good luck, I hope someone can get it out for you.

poor bimmer. somebody scratched ur eye...

hey haiko. sorry to hear about that. my suggestion is that you bring it to an auto glass shop unless you wanna take the risk of using a cheap repair kit.

the reason is that i tried to fix the rock chip on my step-father's suquioa with a cheap kit and i learned my lesson. didnt come out good. brought it to a shop and the guy told me that i should have brought it to them first. he said that he does his job everyday and have never succeed in using a cheap repair-kit. he said there was nothing more that he can do about it. he was like "you live you learn". which was a little bit embarassing. well.... now i know.

its still up to you. if its deep ill be skeptical that the cheap repair kits would work. thats just my opinion.

thanks for the support guys!
The scratch is pretty deep, and my guess is that the "off the shelf" products won't do the trick, but I'll probably give it a try. Im really bummed out, but I don't think I'll spend the money to have it professionally repaired/changed. Hopefully time will heal the pain!

You could always claim it with insurance as vandalism. Most Companies have a zero deductable for that.

Surely this cover is available as a single part. It's only a bit of plastic.?

Any one with a parts catalogue?

it cannot be fixed. Either replace the unit or leave it as that....plastic cannot be buffed nor glass....

For starter, calm down cuz i am going to give you more bad news and I do not want you to pop a blood vessel and have a heart attack. It is not worth the anguish. You cannot just replace the plastic piece. I have taken the whole light piece out for inspection and there is no way to just replace the clear plastic (bad design really). Good luck.

i'm not sure what's worse, to have your paint keyed or your headlights. either way, whoever did this should fry at mcdonald's together with my last night's order of pommes frites so i can shit them out later on and flush them right down the toilet where those f*ckers belong.

i hate vandals and inconsiderate low-lifes!

Just checked at the dealers - The unit doesn't have a separate front lense.

$1017 plus fitting time for one head lamp unit!!!

Thats bad!
