Question for those who have the performance suspension.
For those of you who have the performance suspension installed on your cars, can you tell me if you are having any ground clearance issues with speed bumps, driveways, etc?
I'm an extremely careful driver and I have had low cars before with no issues, but where I currently live there is one of those shallow and long speed bumps at the entrance. Other than that, there is a slight incline to my driveway, and of course, the small curb-like bump into the driveway. I just purchased and picked up the suspension, and can't wait to have it installed. I know it's only a 10mm drop, which isn't really much, but I would like to know what the opinion of others is. Thanks! |

Mine dropped more than 10mm with the performance suspension, that said I have two huge speed bumps in the garage where I park and I have never had any issues.

Sweet...thanks. Sometimes the sideskirts seem a little low. So you have no front bumper issues going into and out of driveways, parking lots, etc?

I have to drive over a curb to get into my driveway basically. I have no issues. Just as a reference my friends G35 can't make it over without scraping.

I've only hit the bottom once, but there was a huge ditch and I was going ~30mph. This was my first day after moving. I have to drive over the ditch everyday now and I'm completely fine so long as I slow down for it.
The PS really isn't that low, you will have plenty of clearance! |

Kind of on the topic of PS...
For those of you that went with the PS... did you also ditch your run flats first or afterwards? And how does the suspension feel with and without run flats? Dackel |

Ditched my run flats as soon as I got the car. I think with the PS + Runflats you are in for a really, really harsh ride. I believe the PS was designed with regular tires in mind. (Don't quote me).

Running PS. No clearance issues and I roll around a torn up downtown area with huge sudden elevation changes into parking garages/lots all the time. The PS dropped me about 12 mm.

I still have the run flats - At least for me the ride is not really that harsh at all.

I switched to non-RF before installing PS. Ride quality improved dramatically. After installing PS, ride quality improved a slight amount. Shocks do a better job absorbing road deformations. There are virtually no negatives to this suspension. Either its an amazing suspension, or the stock suspension was utter crap.

Short front overhang on this car makes it more practical around obstacles even when lowered a bit. PS, no issues.

The short wheelbase really helps as well which is why clearance is less problematic than it might otherwise have been.

I have scraped my car quite a few times after the PS install. Specifically on the short and tall speed bumps. I was going quite slow <5mph, but unless I went in at a crazy angle I would scrape the bottom. This is not that uncommon and all of my jack pads are throughly scraped (I've even lost one before). The front is less of a problem, but its not without incident. PS is not that low compared to many other cars out there, but I certainly haven't been scrape free. There is a noticeable difference compared to sport (usually about .5"), but as long as you are careful you should have minimal incidents!
BTW I'm sure you will be too busy enjoying the new suspension to worry about a little scrape here and there. Have fun! Tim

Does anyone know of the PS dampers have low speed compression, as the stock dampter only have high speed compression, hence they get so unsettled on small bumps, with low speed compression this should not happen as frequently.

No issues with my PS. Keep in mind I am running the Dinan camber plates, so my drop up front is slightly less than that of others. Running wider tires front and rear, plus spacers up front, no rubbing issues.
RFT's was the first 'mod' I did to the car after taking delivery...
