I'd just like to pop in and say that I don't understand what's up with all these people busting vivid's balls about what is one of the cheapest (and best looking @ that price) exhausts for the 1 series available. Berk Technology is a company with an established reputation. They build a ton of great stuff for many different cars. I'd much rather have one of these pieces on my car than a shoved together piece from my local shop.

It speaks volumes that they were willing to listen to the responses here and lower the price. Most vendors wouldn't even dream of that. Good work, Vivid. You can expect my business real soon.

Hi Dan, help me out here on my query, or maybe Berk can chip in. I use my car for track and race, and I am not sure if this exhaust will help me. I have been studying your dyno chart, and if that dyno chart is right, then I gain nothing at the top end compared to the stock exhaust. Now given that my car spend all it's time on the top end at the track, wouldn't this nullify the benefit? It looks like this system is perfect for those who use their cars on the road but not track and race cars? Kind of ironic if that is the case as Berk developed this for their race car.

I agree with what you are saying, but actually as a road racer, I would prefer more torque. Exit corner speed is alot more important then your top end. I can see you are already serious about your suspension and braking. With the downpipes you have and other mods, the Berk piece will add to your performance. I know you will see a difference. Hell, if you dont, return it for store credit... Let me know!

If you use the rear section only with stock downpipes & B-pipe this is the PERFECT street system. You can add our free flowing B-pipe to complete the downpipe back exhaust system. We haven't released this to the public yet but here you go.

Berk Technology B-pipe (mild steel prototype, production will be stainless)


The Berk Technology B-pipe is dual 2.5", merging into a Y at the rear most portion. Just like the factory system only larger and more free flowing. The B-pipe will not include the dual Burns stainless mufflers/resonators as pictured, we will be making our own lightweight mufflers for the B-pipe. The B-pipe is also completely modular, just like our rear section exhaust. You can use one, or all of our exhaust components to build the exhaust system that fits your needs.

We can also make catted B-pipes on a custom basis. We are required to run cats in the race series we are in and this is what we came up with.


Better weight distribution is one of the added benefits of our exhaust system. The OEM rear muffler hangs way past the rear axle and is essentially a 40lb ballast that acts like a pendulum. Our B-pipe & rear section removes as much weight as possible from the rear end of the car and redistributes that weight low and in the center of the car. I understand that the 135i isn't exactly a 1600lb formula car but any amount of weight savings and proper redistribution of weight is always a good thing. Your sig states that you're looking for a free flowing exhaust, this is the system you've been searching for.
