Guys I just got off the phone with BMW. There are still some details missing from the package available and all information will be available within the next few weeks. However at least we have part #'s, prices, and a list of those who want this kit. There are still cloudy areas regarding the kit as far as option codes go. However, the information posted in post #1 is accurate regarding MSD80 and 81.

Remember the kit has part #'s etc, but still has to be approved before I can officially order it from BMW. This is just a pre-order list. First on the list will get the kits when they release it

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=295774 here's a review- he paid 1700 euro for the whole kit and only 190 more for the install, hopefully it's as cheap to install here, review is promising too!

Maybe I am just slow....but this is: Another radiator (oil cooler type thing???) and a stronger cooling fan (bigger?, spins faster?). Can we get a break down of EXACTLY what is in this upgrade? Thanks Dan the Man.

Marc, the break-down of parts will come later. From the diagram pictures, it's definitely a fan, upper radiator hose, another cooling hose connecting to the extra radiator or cooler, air ducts, and some brackets. I believe there will be spark plugs and other parts but I can't confirm it

Interesting about the spark plugs - a different heat range?
I need to talk to Dinan about adding this to mine (with Stage 2.) With reprogramming for the fan, the Dinan software may go away. . . Have Fun, Rick

it seems like BMW is making us pay for parts that were supposed to be there for the hardcore enthusiasts... I've been to the track 3x already and each time I notice that by the end of the day, the oil temps are close to the point where I shouldn't be running my car for another run...

Maybe they are, but I would always welcome OEM upgrades over nothing. Who always wants to beg aftermarket companies for upgrades. The more parts in BMW's catalog, the better. I had Acura RDX injectors in my civic, civic radiator in my cr-x, m3 parts in my 1er, etc. Bring em on. I'll pick-n-choose what I need.
Of course we all wish this came stock, but jeez, wasn't this car good enough already for what we paid? Modding, tuning, upgrading is half the fun. Edit: You know, it just doesn't pay to be optimistic "BEWARE: the new fan cannot be mounted on its own because the ECU has to be reprogrammed to work with it ! The electrical wiring is different." Taken from the review of the kit here: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=295774 So I guess I wont pick and choose. For now....

The kit shown consisted of just additional water cooling capability. Will this yield additional 20 hp without any software upgrade? How does this compare with FMIC intercooler upgrade?

No idea. I don't know of anyone in Atlanta with a FMIC so I couldn't test the kit (once it's available) against one
