Resetting TPM for new wheels.

Just got my new wheels put on with new sensors, kept my old sensors on my stock wheels.

Everytime I start/shut down the car, I get a message on the bottom of my iDrive saying to "Set tire pressure, then reset TPM". There is no (!) light illuminated on the dash, just a yellow picture of that in the notification center between the gauges.

How do I go about doing this? I tried going into the information section -> wheels and tires -> reset TPM but it does nothing. I don't think it's clickable.

Any help here?

I bought the car used with no owner's manual.

If you bought your TPMS sensors from APEX call them! They didnt program mine so they are mailing me another set and I get to remount my tires and rebalance on my own, yipee!!!
So much for saving money in TPMS sensors, I just pissed that away on remount and rebalance fees.

Have you checked the tire pressure? It might be low and is why its not resetting...

I did... but they are APEX brand, not OE.

Which ones did you get? I'm not about to pay for mounting/replacing AGAIN if the mistake is on their end.

Got them mounted and balanced 30 minutes ago. They set the pressure to spec.

Anyone have the for sure method to do this? I want to make sure I am doing things properly before calling them.

Is it something I have to do with the steeling column stalk?

maybe you can ask your tire shop or another to see if they can program them somehow. maybe not free but possibly cheaper than remount.

When I got new wheels tires, it took a little bit for the light to go off even after I reset it.. maybe drive it around a bit. And just because they were just mounted and balanced does not mean they put them at the correct air pressure. I have found tire shops overinflate tires when mounting.

They were able to look up my order and determined the lack of programming was the issue. I don't know how many were done wrong.

I have had multiple problems with my APEX orders. Nice products, service leaves a lot to be desired.
