Brake Fluid Amount
How many bottles of Motul RBF 600 Racing Brake Fluid do I need for a 2011 135i with stock brakes?
And what Motive Brake Bleeder is required for the 135i? Thanks Last edited by hxman; 03-14-2012 at 10:42 AM.. |

You don't have to have a bleeder if you have a buddy to pump the brakes. I used this one, however:
http://www.amazon.com/Motive-Product...1747442&sr=1-1 You could also use the "black label" European version which has a metal cap for the resovor. How much fluid you need is at least in part a function of how you add fluid. If you dump it into the pressurizer (the tool above) as recommended, you will use more. I like to add only to the resovor on the car and if you do that you need less. I would buy a liter for my method and 2 liters if you do it the other way. I also don't like to put fluid in the pressurizing device because it is hydroscopic and needs to be cleaned out when you are done (so you do not have high moisture residual in there the next time you use it). Another thing that can cause you to use more or less fluid is how much you allow to run out at each caliper. If you use different color fluid you can tell when you have it bled but I didn't and had to guess. It isn't a great idea to keep old fluid around - again because it picks up moisture. Jim
