No problem! I've tried countless detailing items; leather masters actually does what it promises.

One thing I noticed is that the "vital" does add a bit of shine/depth to the leather. And when I say a bit, I really mean a slight amount. If you go soft or strong cleaner straight to the protectant, it stays totally matte. I tried the vital once but won't need it again until the leather gets dried out.

Man bp, I didn't know you were considering this! And needless to say, I'm INCREDIBLY interested in seeing what it looks like on yours and your thoughts/opinions on it. Looks good though.

I'd also love to see how it looks on the mineral grey from further back rear shots and overall pictures if you happen to have taken any.

And darn it, you may now have the best looking mineral grey 135is. =P

Greg,
thanks for the compliment. My car is happier now that it has a nicer rear end to show off. i was at first skeptical, but I am happy I did it. I bought the part from a BMW dealer in NJ that I found from a google search.

I just noticed the gas cap door is ajar.....

The diffuser really looks GREAT!!! I may need to look into getting one. My 135is will be Mineral Gray as well... now that I've seen how good the CF diffuser looks on a Mineral Gray car I may need to rethink my decision to forego any CF bits and pieces!

My car finally arrived at the Vehicle Processing Center today... it's going to be a long 4+ weeks until PCD on Aug 29!

Wow, that really does look great and finishes off that rear end perfectly. Thanks for the additional (and always amazing) pics, though I don't think my wallet will thank you cause now I really want one. Ugh. Was upsetting when I saw mb135is's a lil while ago, but luckily after a week I got back to normal and now I'm itching for it again cause it really does fit and suit the car.

You going to get blacklines as well?

I can't believe you already have and put your plates on, too! I hate putting them on cause then I feel the car is no longer new, but my special IS-related custom plates should be here any day and may put them on.

I can't look anymore...I'm going to be sick...and now mine looks like a turd. Men do like nice rear ends...I cannot lie...

Greg - stop denying it - the CF diffusor finishes mineral perfectly and SHOULD have come on the car. Make it right. Do the right thing. Be brave.

After bimmerfest east last weekend, I'm now debating the CF lip spoiler. Any thoughts?

What are "winter tires?" Hahaha. I'd say you could look into those new michelin pilot sport 3 all-season tires that I think just came out, but then you wouldn't have another reason to take a road trip.
Winter tires use rubber compounds fit for Icy cold road conditions with snow 'frosting' to top it off...lol. All season's are not the greatest for these kind of roads. Of course in LA you don't have to worry about it unless you venture into the higher altitudes.

I know it looks great, that's why it tortures and upsets me. I agree, it should have come with it on there. One day I might get it.

My car is leased though and while I probably will buy it, hard to drop another $1200 on the diffuser after getting the pilot super sports, tint, custom made floormats, and special plates. Plus I think I'll be out of work in a month or so...unless someone wants to lend me $1200? No...anyone? Someone? Anyone? I suppose I could always get it and if for some reason I do turn in the car, I could just sell the diffuser on here and put the stock one back on.

I'll see. Will focus on detailing the hell out of it tomorrow and put the diffuser out of my mind. Nobody put any blacklines on their IS either. =P Might do both down the road.

I agree the CF Diffuser should have come on this car. The black line lights are another story. If I do more to the car it will probably be sub frame bushings, but that is most likely a ways off. At about 500 miles the exaust is sounding better and the tune seems to be coming on. I sure do like this car

Never seen the CF diffuser or blacklines in person, so hard for me to truly judge and know.

The take home message should be the CF diffuser looks great on there. I'm jealous.

1300 miles and doing the post break-in oil change soon,

Motoring on...(and making a great noise doing it!)

Ah, lease changes the story. I'm not convinced I like the blackline tails. Not convinced about the lip spoiler, either.

Going in for service next week before a long trip:
- mid cycle oil/filter
- address interior rear deck rattle
- affix PPK sticker(s) that were left off at the port

Summer = different driving habits for me, so I'm up to -+ 25 mpg for the last few tanks, still at 21 for the life of the car, though.

Cleaned and protected my steering wheel today with leather masters.

Love the CF diffuser -- and agree it looks really great on mineral and space. But I'm not as much of a fan of the CF lip spoiler. I like the subtler look, and the diffuser has it but I think the CF lip takes away from that. But, then again, why would you care what some guy in CA with a 135is 'vert (which didn't even come with a lip spoiler) thinks?

That's some pretty good MPG you are getting there! I haven't hit 20 around town yet; freeway MPG is great but my commute has been very short and stop and go lately. How do you manage to get that kind of MPG -- what is your commute like?

CF diffuser looks great, BP!

Just might have to add that to the mod list. Maybe after the 1M/M3 suspension bits but before the quaife.

Typically my commute is 1.5 miles, which is not good for a car, especially in winter. That explains my 20-ish MPG to this point. I moved a month ago (temporarily - long story), so I've switched to mainly highway + long trips (Bimmerfest East, weekend excursions, going to OBX next week), which explains why I'm in the mid 20s now. During my short commute on very cold days, I'd drive the long way home or to work to get the oil up to temp. I don't drive very aggressively which could also explain some of it. I would be getting much better mileage, though, on the highway if I stuck to 70-75 mph vs. 80-85, which is the flow of traffic here in the dirty jerz.

I saw a bunch of CF spoilers at bimmerfest, but most were on otherwise modded cars that were lowered, wheels pushed out, aftermarket wheels, etc... Only suspension mod I would make cosmetically would be the Performance Suspension, and possibly spacers for the wheels, so I just don't know if the lip spoiler would go well. An alternate solution could be to get it painted space gray on the top and leave the bottom CF, but that's way too much effort which I don't have the time for anyway.
